This is a general collection of tips for fixing issues in Spring 95.0, which is the engine version now used by ZK not anymore, we've rolled back to 91.0 for the time being.

Will be updated as needed.

I have an AMD graphics card, 95.0 crashes on load
Try upgrading or downgrading your drivers. Testing suggests Catalyst 13.4 and 13.11 beta work, 13.9 does not.

Ingame framerate is lower than it used to be
Try one or more of the following tags in springsettings.cfg (ZKL users can find it in Settings -> Open game data folder -> springsettings.cfg):

LogFlush = 0
AllowDeferredMapRendering = 0
AllowDeferredModelRendering = 0

(All the above settings are in ZKL-deployed configs, so you can quickly get them by opening ZKL and selecting one of the graphics settings presets. You'll have to reset LogFlush if you want to play 95.0 after 91.0, however.)

Unit animations and such jitter
Try UseHighResTimer = 1 (Windows only)
or AllowDeferredModelRendering = 0

Camera jitters when scrolling
Try WorkerThreadCount = 0

Map is completely white when playing
AdvMapShading = 0
or ingame, /advmapshading 0

Whole map/screen turns into strobe effect when holding down Shift while selected unit(s) have command(s)
AdvUnitShading = 0
or /advunitshading 0

My map is duplicated
Try a different water setting (ingame, type /water 0-4).

Had yesterday 2 remarkable battles:
B209300: This game lagged up to 2 min. Seems new engine cannot handle that much units as old could handle (without lagging).
B209227: Players "left" game. I think they somehow where kicked and could not reenter anymore.

Hi GoogleFrog!
I've a result for you of this game which is lagging. I made 2 photos with my mobile and put it on picasaweb.
Unfortunately I'm not able to start that with spring 91. Spring 91 wont start it with the hint "This is demo file is defect or not a Spring 91 format"

Do you have any suggestions how we can convert the demo file, so that we are able to compare run times?

From my point of view it is possible that the game would have lagged also with 91, but it is really a long time past that this happened to me. Unfortunately lagging happened so shortly after introduction of the new engine version.

I've no hi end graphic card (ATI Radeon eah6570) but I prefer to use "high" detail level. (Ultra crashes)

- Units are jittering
- I have random problems with animations, sometimes they stuck and repeat some amount of time
- Sometimes game become unresponsive and laggy, i.e. lagspikes: on explosions mostly
- Game always crashes on exit

And yes, I did things KingRaptor recomended in his post here.

I dont like it.
Remove all shiny new shit, delete everything and make rollback to 1.5 years at least.
Thats all I wanted to say.

Licho is verry bugged.If you bomb and he goes back for relod but you want it grounded and not to move he doesnt listen to commands, instead he suicides into enemy lines even if airpad is in the oposite direction.

Avengers have a bit of lag when you try to use speed burst, and you need to press 2-3 times to work.

Planes sometimes like avengers and vamps don't repair to plane factory in case you direct that command.

Why is it always the licho that has problems? Why not the shadow or phoenix?

SHadows have problems to , for example i saw Saabir microwing 3 shadows, and when 2 of them were a bit clustered only 1 of them droped the bomb.

This is probably a long shot but it would be interesting to hear if the following settings makes a difference for ppl:
WorkerThreadCount = X (I set X to 8, 4 cores+HT)
WorkerThreadSpinTime = 0

I use this to not burn CPU needlessly, jk says it will reduce performance but 95.0 is fast enough for me on my i7-3820.
