I've been toying with trying to make a model in blender without any use of upspring whatsoever. Here's the WIP of a Mutant Jellyfish Pacman Octopus Ghost Thing (in image of Buoy, because i also hate it using Core Can model).

It's red because it's untextured and a lobster.

It has six tentacles.

It propels itself in water by spinning around with tentacles.

It has an opening top from which the protoss photon cannon comes out.

It's also supposed to walk on land (as opposed to its underwater spin-locomotion), but i haven't figured that out yet. Also, zk somewhy assigns a crazylarge colvol sphere to it and ignores my attempts at overriding. And i totally screwed up the weapon firing script, so it shoots rarely and once :P

Do want Buoy. Also do the rest of the Amphlab, they are pretty meh.

Except for Scallop/Djinn/Angler.

generally:
i like the idea of amphs being squid-like, as spiders being spider like. can you proceed with the other units too, give everything tentacles? that would be awsome.

this game must be made!

imo it would be a pretty fun rts to play, once you get over the suprise of an RTS hentai game...

:D time to flesh out some game mechanics!

high school girls:
general anime-ish attack abilities...
needs housing to produce more
highschool/dojo/mahou accademy... as unit production facilities
faster then tentacle mosters
gain hp+attak through EXP
~low hp


tentacle mostrers:
mostly mele
canoon "kill" high school girls, only incapacitate and drag back to lair
limited production speed, only hive can make units and has limited buildpower
can only produce adv units through captured highschool girls
have main "hive" that once destroyed defeats all tentacle monsters
relatively slow moving units, but have short range slow aroura(like outlaw)
close range stun ability and transport ability
high hp,
specilized units have resurect ability
morf ability, using captured highschool girls


you know i should be amazed that i can even come up with this... but somehow it comes to me naturaly

this would play kinda like zombie rts game

What do you do when both players pick same faction? Especially, when both pick monsters?

I'd rather go the way where you play as a ruler of some AoE-style outpost/city/colony/village, and can ally with various (some mutually exclusive, some synergetic) forces in order to attain additional units/powers/etc. Obviously, most of the forces want something to do with sexy members of your community, so you balance your eco between making new subjects and using those sexy members to please your allies (which might cost you some workpower, or actually cause loss of utilized citizen, but either way rewards you with an animation).

The military branch also directly benefits your eco by allowing you to raid nearby villages and towns for same precious resource. This puts everybody on same footing and makes the hentai aspect inescapable (if you want to play competitively).

Also, let's !start a new thread about this, !y ?

i was thinking along the lines that only 1 team can be tentacles, and one team can be higschool girls...

but thinking about it that way you could use the same mechanics in team games, where you "feed" your high school girls to your tentacle monster players, and the tentacle mosters make up the front line as assult/tanks, while the highschool girls act as the raider/artillery for your team.

interaction between the housing population limit on the highschool girls team and the flat build rate of the tentacle mosters should be intresting imo.

also another idea is that tentacle mosters do not get any constructors, they can only be acquiring through... um, acquiring the highscholl girls constructors

and giving tentacle mosters the ability to dig in, a la hydralisk/roach would make the game quite balanced (albeit the play styles of the 2 sides would be masivly divergent)

feel free to copypasta evrything into a new thread if you want to make this XD

i would certanly like to play it, theres too few non-japaneese H-games

The amphibots never looked very amphibian to me. Good models no doubt but nothing about them looks like they go into water.

Though I know Achron wasn't well liked here, that game does have a species of sentient cyborg squid that can travel through time at will.

But I digress.

I like the squid amphi idea as well, particularly since I find amphis hardest to pick out (mostly because they are often underwater), and it would be more unique. That or lizards (since many are amphibious).

I've actually stuck to Reflective+Refractive water to improve Amphi visibility (works well with Outline+XRayShader, and doesn't get weird squares/rectangles popping up at long distances like Dynamic) instead of using the default Bumpwater, though Bumpwater also doesn't reflect terrain, which is annoying.

I know it makes me a bad person to reply to this, but there happens to be a thing called lolimod that you can steal stuff from. It's incredibly old though and won't run without some messing around with the files.

Spring Engine doesn't support video playback and skeletal models (i.e, mesh deformation, which is a paramount requirement to sexy organic models).

Therefore, Spring is unfeasible for purposes of hentai rts, and as the models are in spring-specific format, the lolimod content is thus also useless. Glest, even while totally flat and disfeatured compared to Spring, is a better bet.

To stop derailing: i've now placed a mini-ddm on top of the photon cannon, fixed weapon scripts and made a nicer pack/unpack anim.

Next phase is texturing, and then i'll start figuring out the techy part of water/land movement switch as well as how the proverbial intercourse is one supposed to make walking animations in spring, without all those nice keyframe things etc.

you know those things look f***ing awsome...

although they look kinda like dwarf tech from morowind, which is not a bad thing, dwarfs are badass...

imo that mode would be epic for the grizzly if you made it begger and even more badass looking.

but then again, if you use it as bouy model, no one will suspect that the cute little army of jellyfish that just cam ashore is actual AN ARMY OF MUTANT JELLYFISH GHOST OOCTOPUSES ARMED WITH PHOTON CANNONS!!!
(ie the cute little fishie WITH THE GIANT TEETH)


also dose this mean close bouy now get armour bonus?

Also: 1st screenshot > last shot. Red blobs are so cuuute. Make them amphib chickens!!

As for Kraken: Make queen turn into a sea monster when under water, dragging units into the depths!
