Matchmaking ladder is broken

My MM ELO is 2884. Why am I fourth?

Looks like the Fed is pumping the whr market aswell

A ladder strategy where the best way to keep the top position is to not play?

I've tried to raise this topic of the malfunctioning ladder on discord earlier and it has not really been addressed, can you switch different ladder ideas to a new thread as not to derail?

I don't even, this is like the one time where I restarted the server and the database was randomly scrambled.

Are you saying your rating changed without you playing?

I'm saying all of yesterday, my points were going up, about 1 point every 20 mins while I wasn't playing. When I won games and lost games they also went up.

Ok so now this actually makes sense. WHR was unable to process new battles, so it got stuck trying to process the same battles over and over again. Every time somebody played a battle, it went through everyone who had played a battle since the WHR crash and gave them at least the minimum elo reward/loss. That means every time somebody finished a MM battle you gained 1 Elo, since you had a victory game in the queue. Unfortunately some people had a lost game in the queue, and only the first game in the queue counts.

This code is full of surprises.

So is it safe to assume that although the issue causing the problem has stopped, the ladder is now "corrupt"?

I ask because I'm still all about having seasons and think if the data is screwed up, it's a good excuse to ditch it and start fresh again, under the guise of season 2.
