I meant in terms of player behaviour, but fair enough.

Glad to see you cast some FFA, CArankAdminShadowfury333 !!! You did a great job!

This one I found to be a particular good game: Multiplayer B716067 6 on FataMorganaV2 (but then again, I might be biased because I won :p)
Nevertheless, there was plenty of people turning on the strongest player without overcomitting, so it was very well balanced for a long time. Most mayor players went through a near death :)
The drawback off course is that it was a 2h game as a result :p

There can be many things going on at the same time in FFA, making it hard to cast. But there are a few main things to focus on:
- Diplomacy: Who is fighting/helping who, who looks like the strongest player/most urgent threat to different players). Sometimes players have a reputation that works against them.
- Eco: Who is growing while keeping a low profile (making eco, building up army but not using it yet).
- Army/fights: Balance aggression with defense and with attrition, when do players decide to use their army. (note that even when you lose less army than one opponent in a fight, the real winners are the players that were not involved).
- Flexibility/comeback potential: imo, this separates good FFA players from normal players. First in terms of army/tactis, being able to adapt to their opponents, but even more so in terms of eco/strategy: being able to rebound after losing ground, by spreading eco, build power etc.

I'm sure many other good FFA players can add to that. ( USrankAdminJasper, NOrankAdminKingstad, CHrankAdminDeinFreund, FRranktaftaflexenope, CArankEtSuRii, RUrankizirayd, USrankUltraGodzilla, RUrankYogzototh etc.)

CHrankAdminDeinFreund can we have a FFA ladder?

I sometimes offer peace to a player I have the probable upperhand against in favor of attacking a new target I think I can wipe out quicker, or more likely if there is another player that needs to be fought before he gets too big. its not uncommon with loose alliances but I would say most ffa communication comes down to saying "X IS ATTACKING ME/HAS SOMETHING SCARY" and hope that others respond to it.

Perhaps people would make alliances more often if ingame chat allowed personally messaging other players :)
Although now it's also fun that talking might come at a cost, since people often take revenge for people pointing fingers at them.

There is whispering but it would be faster if there was a button next to every player when pressing TAB that would autowrite the whisper command. You REALLY dont want to make a typo when writing the command because then the secret message will be read by all, embarrassing.

FFA and 1v1 ladders would actually be nice as they are definitely different to team-games.
