There should be a penalty for people resigning. I had like 3-4 players constantly AFK and when we had the chance to win all resigned. It was me and 1-2 AFK guys and 2 more against the whole other team.

I suggest we remove some ELO from players who early resign individually or 1-2 hours ban on the big team's room. This game is a clear example where we could have won if everybody was online and playing

ROrankForever maybe people wouldn't want to resign if your team didn't have a DRP being built from the second the game started.

If you allow people to control their elo by resigning then you'll only create unbalanced matches in the future while simultaneously increasing strain on the already super busy moderation team (hah) to prevent abuse.

It wasn't the DRP it was 2 fucking singus made instead of expand on a map that's typically won by expand.
I started DRP way later when it was already kinda over.

Why does it say I died in 52 seconds? I lived into the very end.

I instantly went ground with heavy tanks after first singu (and it took 1 minute or max 2...). Once people started to lose or to resign we had 50% DRP. Can I ask why everybody assisted your tactic instead of expanding?

"Why did nobody expand when I, the highest ranked player on my team, rushed a shiny instead of expanding?"

I bet this will make people early resign more.

or 1-2 hours ban on the big team's room.

Harsh but it would probably work.

How early is early? I'd be willing to experiment with a policy change.

Resign system itself is abused already. It will not work in such way. I doubt here is change to redesign it. Only way is don't allow resign and every quit is like dota 2 game abandon (except 1 vs 1). And same with afk times. If player lags more then 5 min then got penalty.

1. the majority of games ends with resign. some do early.
2. not being able to resign when you want will prevent some people from even entering a game.
3. i guess no one of the resigned players saw the drp. most people only look at their tiny spot of the map and nowhere else. yes YOU might have seen a way to win this, but the others didn`t.
4. you can complain about getting a team of early-resigners, i guess a team of storage-spammers would be fine then? after all they are playing.

"I instantly went ground with heavy tanks after first singu (and it took 1 minute or max 2...). Once people started to lose or to resign we had 50% DRP."

Your first unit is a tremor coming out of the factory at around minute 7:30.
At that time your team had around 20% map-control and you were only able to survive that long because your enemies failed to build a singu themselves.
Anyway, the way this game starts with you, slaab and midnight in one corner of the map looks like intentionally throwing the game. I would think: "oh great, they want to rush something, so we will lose the map, I will have less metal and be forced to be meatshield at front while other people sit at the back, rush their big shit and watch cat-videos on youtube in the meantime. thanks, i am out."

Another infuriating example of a game ruined by resignateers
https://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/943150

We had 4 berthas and initally we even held 75% of the map but because half of team resigned we had nobody to hold front lines. Lost ofc.

Some battles, some certain people just keep polling the resign when THEIR front is doing badly, again and again same vote even thou the whole battle is clearly not lost. Even after they have resigned, they continue. Really messes the chat which is shitty to keep track of anyway. !vote 1, !vote 2, vote failed, !poll resign, blaa blaa. Game is not over when your shitty front is doing shit or you lost your factory at minute 3. Limit the amount of resign polls per player.

And it really doesnt often help when one side of the map does badly and the guy/guys from that side of the map resign too early, and that makes the game even more hard for the rest of the team. And the resigneers just keep banging that !poll resign when their resign has made it harder for the rest.

Any statistics available on the most amount of early-mid game resignateers?

Ok...so I made a mistake with the singu rush. But why I constantly had 4-5 commanders at the end of the game. It seems that my team didn't actually resign, they just ALT+TAB and gave me everything to micro...at least 50% of the front.

I agree that some of my teammates did an awesome job at bombing ( GBrankTechAUmNu ) and holding the left side of the map (don't remember exactly who it was) and I thank them for it. But for the rest of the team? SGrankLu5ck as a decent player complained about singu rush while he made moho early game.

At some point, somebody made a Paladin rush exactly when we were losing the game and seriously? (won't watch the replay because I don't want to point fingers).

At the end of this game, there was just dirtbag spam, a merlin, and a shielded ball that were the only problem in making us win/lose. If we had the chance to counter those things (and we had a scorpion on the battlefield) the game was ours. I couldn't micro 4 commanders at the same time and hold the front from all points. It's just too much for a single player...

Big teams room a few years ago was decent, it was not perfect but you could rely on somebody to hold the ground (even a brown star). Now they just resign the moment they lose the factory, they never ask for a constructor, they never try to micro something in winning the game and most of the time they lose commander or rush missile silo in their base.
I mean it's ok to be like this but they don't even try to see the full view of the map and what's going on.

So my suggestion is:
1. Some kind of penalty for early resigners and resigners in general (I am talking here about individual resigning and not the team vote resign). Maybe 1-2 hours ban?
2. Some kind of penalty for AFK people (those that intentionally alt+tab and go watch movies while team builds their QUE). No metal income for some minutes while in-game?
3. Heavy penalty for resigning vote abusers (we have some example when even DErankManu12 lost a game because some players trolled him with resign)
4. No ELO for all the resigners if that specific team wins the match (this way we remove the RUrankFirepluk style resign and their ELO inflation.

Also is there a way to remove commander metal income? having 4 commanders or even 2-3 will result in a lot of metal income lost. Isn't there any way to change this ...to make commanders not give metal income :(?

You can report people for vote spamming.

Singu rushers had total metal income a bit more than the expanders for like 1% of the whole game(I assume this includes metal overdrive, which singu people had almost double more, but that didnt help). Few moments at minute 8 ish and minute 12 ish total metal income went over the other guys line.

"3. Limit the amount of resign polls per player."

that seems like a very neat idea that even i as convinced early resigner would support since vote-spam is annoying and seems superiour to treating vote-spam as something that is report-worthy. less work for everyone.

ROrankForever
sry i didn`t mean to blame you for that game, I just wanted to clarify that that game-start would have demoralized me instantly.
you also need to take into account that there are not just early-resigners in this game but also their opposite, late-resigners, for example NOrankAdminKingstad or DErankManu12 .
And why i agree that this particular game might have been won, there have been many situations where players just hold out a clearly lost game in the hope that their enemy does a crucial mistake. I have never really enjoyed this and preferred to play another game, but ofc fighting on is totally valid and your freedom of choice. but you need to see that it takes a lot of skill to pull such comebacks off and many not that expierienced players simply can`t do that wich makes the game "more lost" in their perspective.

If you penalize players for resigning they will simply start going afk instead ^_^

lol

I forgot about those guys...I also resign very late and rarely give up this is why in this game it was frustrating, we had the chance to win like 50 50 :(.
