It was originally made as a joke. Senna was (is?) notorious for packing his random BA mods into maps called "DSD Special" or "Widepass Special" or whatever. It was the only way he could get noobs to play his mods.

Artturi, as a joke, called his remake of Folsom "FolsomDamSpecial". After everyone hated it, he changed it to FolsomDamDeluxe, of which v4 is the best (all the bugs fixed). You can think of this map as FolsomDamDeluxe v1.

Anyways, it should not be featured. It's exactly the same as v4 except buggier.

Actually special BA was really fun. I probably would not play spring till now if not senna's work. And learn to respect others work antelope.

To expand on that statement:

People only played games that were BA + DSD. Because the mod was packed INSIDE of DSD, on the game list Senna's game still showed up as BA, and the map was still DSD special? SPECIAL DSD?!? what noob could resist!?! Then people ended up playing a new game they never intended to. So it was really a bait-and-switch operation. There was exactly zero reason to package an entire mod into a map other than to trick people into playing it. He could have just as easily made true mod (which I think he ended up doing) without the trickery.

Lastly, respect and criticism are not the same. I thought Senna's mod was total shit, but that's not the same as disrespecting it. Example: I require you to respect my artwork.

Senna's mod wasn't hated because it was bad... Senna legitimately made some neat work.

The problem was that he distributed it dishonestly, by shoehorning as a mapmod.

I seem to remember Special DSD coming before the Special Widepass maps. I remember the original BAWWWW thread way back here:
