Idea: Variable Unit Speed Due to Damaged Factory

If factory is damaged, some wires get crossed and each unit is randomly +/- .1 speed due to flaky factory. The higher percentage the fac is damaged, the higher variance in speed. Or maybe the units' damage is modified slightly?

This would make any damage on the fac a bit more important for some?

Would each unit having a potentially different speed be too processor intensive?

If possible, it could add a bit of randomness to otherwise equally matched games?

Just an idea...

Okay, yeah, it makes sense it would kinda break all the attention spent on balance.

Didn't zero-k used to have an experience / level system or something?

Units still gain XP which you can use to get a rough estimate of efficiency and a shiny award at the end of the game but that's about it.

Up to 2014-10-12, some arbitrary set of units used to unlock the ability to morph into completely different units - for example, a Flea could become a Glaive - but did not gain any stats per se, that is an experienced Flea had identical stats to any other Flea, and upon morphing it did not become a Flea with Glaive stats, but became an actual Glaive.

Up to 2011-10-05, units used to improve reloadspeed with experience. Some time before 2010 they used to gain health as well.
