You might try setting the graphics settings to "Compatible" and see if that fixes it. Interesting that it only shows the outlines of the letters (you can kind of tell that your commander name is approximation by the box size). If you mention what graphics card you have (Intel, AMD, or Nvidia) it might help one of the devs figure out what's causing the problem.
