How do you get experience (mechanism)?

Hello,

I just started playing Zero-K a little., but I'm curious abouth getting experience (here on the web to unlock new things).

I'm running Linux, using springlobby, hostng new game (using password), then I add CAI, play against it, win/lose, but I don't get any experience points and that game doesn't even appear here on my profile.

The only game where I got experience was Chicken defense, where I was ally with another player. That is the only game that appeared here.

I have tried to paly with friend against CAI and again, no luck.

Is there some secret about hosting the game to get experience? Do I have to play against players? Use relayhost? Use ZK lobby (there's none for Linux, if I have the right info)?

I simply don't want to uncheck "Unlock system", because I want my own comm too.

Thanks for answers

You must play on a springie host. Zero-K creates a springie host automatically when you make a game, but other lobbies allow you to how the game yourself. Message Springie with !help to get more info on the commands required to spawn a host, or join someone elses hosted game.

Ok, so I have to run Springie host and play on it to gain experience (if I want to play alone or only with friend).

Thank you for valuable info

Yes you need to use !spawn command to create new host. Or simply join free springie zero-k host, there is always one empty.

Sorry, if these are bad questions - Do I have to really run my own Springie autohost (if I don't want to use others)?

Or can I just go into some Springie Zero-K host and run !spawn there to create my own game (running on my PC, NOT on this host). I'm really sorry guys, I just never used Springie...

Licho: Where should I use !spawn command? I can go on from there.

You need to play an online game for your stats to be recorded online. You arent running your own springie, you're just creating a game with springie has the host. As licho says though, there should always be an empty one to join.

Use !spawn in PM to springie or in any springie hosted lobby room, or just type !help to springie.

If you just want to practice game locally however, without custom commanders and unlock system, you can host game way you did before and just turn "enableunlocks" mod option off

So, I am having the same problem (No points accumulating from singleplayer or multiplayer matches) but when I use !help, I find that there is no !spawn or mention of "host". This thread is 31 months old, so I guess the command structure has changed...

USrankhixidom: You have four games listed on your user page, with the correct amount of XP from them. Are there games you played that are not being recorded on the site, or something?

N.B.: If you're wondering why you can't spend your points yet, they'll only become available for this purpose on level up.

Whaaat? I swear those weren't there an hour ago. Anyways, I was typing !help in the Zero-K Chat and wasn't seeing the commands. When I typed !help in the Battle Chat, a commands list pops up that does have !spawn, though it seems to pertain to the particular Battle server I was playing on at the time. I'm gonna look around again for some clarification on the website. I think there must be something I'm missing. Sorry for crying wolf.

"Are there games you played that are not being recorded on the site, or something?"
Well, singleplayer missions, but maybe those don't count for anything.
