The other popular Spring engine mods had pretty descriptive names like BA. How did the name Zero-K originate?

The temperature of the cosmic background radiation is somewhere around 3K. So wherever there is a lower temperature in the universe, there is probably a technological civilization.

Explain pls.

Edit: You mean that a temperature lower than 3 degrees Kelvin can only be achieved in a controlled environment?

Or do you mean "higher" than 3k?

Yes, e.g. by liquifying helium. On the other hand, low temperatures can also appear naturally under rare circumstances such as black holes. Sagittarius A* for example should have a temperature in the fK regime. Therefore, low temperatures have also been called "singularities in the universe".

They told someone to think of a name and he said ok. But they thought the o was a zero.
