_Shaman admin abuse, speccheating, kick

next time you wonder why no one plays this game, the answer is because of the toxic community.
"dont call me faggot" okay, dont call me a lobster, and dont speccheat, and dont abuse your admin authority while spectating by unbalancing the game.

Protip: You can Edit your existing post to add more text to it. That way _Shaman can only downvote you once.

Furthermore: _Shaman is not an admin. If people voted no and he still kicked you, chances are he was a "boss" or in other words the owner of the battle room you were in. Creators of a room have near full power over it. (Note that my knowledge might be outdated.)

In this case it's a reference to gunship factory. I assume the idea came through "Bumblebee" (Wasp, gunship con) or perhaps just a general insect theme (Gnat). Still, it is indeed quite strange that this term came up.

You don't even understand why Ampersand was kicked. It had something to do with this line:

Please avoid criticising the actions of others until you have at least some understanding of what actually happened.

I think talking as a spectator was a bad idea - even if you don't think you're giving anything away, and even if you in fact haven't, the players' efforts to interpret what you said may still affect the game. Kicking for com-morph is also meh (though in some instances understandable). Nevertheless, Ampersand's attitude in this instance was fully deserving of a kick.

uhm AMPERSAND the title is quite misleading. Several correction as follow


@_Shaman is not and has never been admin IIRC.

DeinFreund is the one who called for the kick according to chat log.

All player vote on kick poll and result as intended. You were not kicked by malicious Agent.




Only flaw you can call on @_Shaman is alleged spec cheat which, without the actual replay I would not comment on.

personally I disapproved of the word "faggot" AMPERSAND used.

Further note that you can disable Spec chat in room option.

I was led to believe that official room do not allow spec chat but I am unsure on that point, never tested.



TL;DR : this have nothing to do with Devs or even community from my point of view. Just one player disagreed with another player behaviors.

In an effort to avoid this issue again I'll clarify what I feel is kickable:
1.) Verbal abuse.
2.) Heckling (constant) -- I give quite a few warnings here before I kick. Usually 3-5.
3.) playing bad on purpose to lose elo.

I try to do the following to speed up games:
1.) Map after every game to a reasonable map (1st not sea !map OR 1st suggested featured map)
2.) Votes that are hanging with 1 vote left I generally pass then endvote. (I hate it when people don't vote myself/afk during votes and it can be irritating at times)
3.) End !map spam after 4-5 maps.

I feel this policy creates a fast moving environment that gets more games out. Nobody seems to complain and they come back so it seems to me that it's a reasonable policy.

If you feel my moderation is in error, you can bring it up to me in PM. I'm quite reasonable and I listen to complaints and adjust accordingly.

Well in this case i didn't see @_Shaman abuse as room administrator from ethic reason. Rude word using is punishable and are not justified. I would do same if i would be room admin and i would no complay if i would be kicked from room for same reason.
Each type of room is its pros and cons.
