KIDDY mistake: not plopping fac.

In all seriousness, this is a bug and should be fixed... but why would you not have plopped a factory by the time you have rez capability lmao

this was probably never tested ever

It's not a bug. It's consistent, units don't retain things like capture relationship, morph progress or stockpile when rezzed either (and they shouldn't).

The plop is meant to cut down the downtime in the start of the game when everyone is building their fac.

If you decided not to plop for whatever reason and lost your com, I think it's entirely reasonable to lose the plop as it's way past the start of the game.

Clarification: did he resurrect his comm that had never plopped (and when it resurrected it was plopless), or did he use his comm to resurrect destroyed factory and then when that factory was resurrected his plop vanished? Because the former is perfectly reasonable, but the latter is not.

The latter sounds reasonable too. Facplop is only there to make sure you have a fac - if you choose to get one by rezzing, so be it.

kinda depends on whos fac youre rezzing, but i wouldnt call that as a good way of things working either way. thats 600 metal lost, and if you gonna rez a fac you exspect that you get a fac no matter what, not to get absolutely exactly nothing at the cost of time, energy and a facs worth of wreckage.

also, i dont like people walking halfway across the map to plop their fac either, in fact, i hate it. but if you want to make the plop only a thing at the start of game, the proper way to do it would be to make it run a timer. not to let some ominous rez bug "handle it".

the way it is currently is that your com carries a factory with it as long as it lives and thats what people exspect.

Walking across the map is one thing but not plopping it at all for 10 minutes and making storage instead is another. It is already fixed but my stance is "l2p noob".

Kiddy shit (demagogue) is trying to tell what someone should do.

Conrats, list of 7 PoSes which "plussed" 2nd message.

Pxtl, i agree that 1-st variant is reasonable/logical, but i had 2-nd.

So what, RUrankHuj lives in an anarchist commune?

If someone is doing something obviously stupid (in general, not necessarily describing this scenario although some clearly see it that way) telling them what (not) to do seems like the correct course of action.

In it's alright to mess around in AI games, that's what they are for. The problem is that people carry over the "dont tell me what to do" mentality to real games where it's just massively frustrating for everyone else on the team. If we had a decent sized community these would eventually plunge down to the underdepths of Elo and get matched with similar people but currently everyone is forced to play with them because there's only 1 room.

not sure why you would downvote / get angry at / insult people who have in essence argued in your favor. or start your bug report with an insult in the first place, for that matter. declaring this bug a "kiddy mistake", that way insulting the people who wrote the code in question sets you up for a negative reaction.

most of us agreed that this is a bug that should be fixed. however, since for the bug to ever take effect you have to do something in the game that is just bad play, people also did tell you that.

that said, your forum rights can and will be taken away if you keep breaking the forum rules.

Funfact, none were broken. There are three forum rules:

1) "Refrain from discussion of politics or religion in the forums.", rule not broken.

2) "As a rule, comments and forum posts should follow at least two of the three "nots":"
"Not be rude"
"Not be false", number one
"Not be damaging", number two

3) "Making forum threads complaining about how unjust one's penalty was and (....)", this thread is not about penalties or admins at all.

If you are seriously thinking of the sticky "Development forum rules" thread as rules (which I do not), then I take back my statement and rules were indeed broken. However, to my knowledge nobody has ever been reported or warned, let alone punished for mistakenly posting in this subforum.

ok so apparently you are allowed to be rude, although i still would not recommend it.

(tho what constitures to "damage" is very much debatable)

To me "damaging" would be breaking the forum, writing newbie-guides that deliberately mislead newcomers, promoting hatred between players or calling to actions against ZK (ie "let's all DDoS the server until Defenders get nerfed!!1").

Just a clarification: I don't want RUrankHuj to be rude either. RUrankHuj please be super friendly. If people like you and think you are nice then they are more willing to listen to you and they will fix bugs you point out. Also if you are pleasant then you wont get penalties as easily and that means you can report more bugs!
