As usual, the tournament is scheduled to take place on the last Saturday of the month at 10 AM / 10:00 UTC.

Tournament format & rules:
- Registration is open until 1 hour before the official start time of the tournament, at which time the bracket will be shuffled.
- Double elimination
- Random seeding
- First map of each round is predetermined, the following maps in the winners bracket will be selected by the loser of the previous game from the featured 1v1 map pool.
- All winners bracket games will be best of 3 (including finals). All losers bracket games will be best of 1 with the exception of the losers finals (bo3).

It is possible to substitute for players who don't show up. If you have signed up, make sure to show up on time. Those who fail to show up will likely be subbed out by 10:30 UTC.

The players coming first, second and third will receive special unique collectible awards to their player profile, and receive tournament points which will at the year's end determine the year's altogether best tournament player.

The initial maps for each round are as follows:

Round 1: Battle for Planet XIV - v01
Round 2 and Losers Round 1: Isle of Grief 0.2

Why are Gauss (400m) and Geo (500m, 25e) higher up than HLT (420m) and Fusion (1000m, 35e)? Or is the high terraform cliff misleading and Geo is actually below the Fusion?

Sigh... another tourney that I'll sign up for and then sleep through.

Why are these never at a time other than the early morning hours for US players? Would it be too much to ask to not have to mess up my sleep schedule to participate in these events?

They were in the NA afternoon at first, but not many NA players signed up, so I was usually the only person from NA even involved in the tournament. It was easier for the EU and Aus players to play with the current time, and I partially requested early mornings so that I could still have a Saturday afternoon and evening on tournament days.

Last time a NA time tournament was attempted it was a complete mess, though that was due to the host not doing their research into what a tournament is first.

USrankStuart98, it's funny you ask. The one and only ZK "US Tournament" ever held is one of the reasons* politics are banned in this forum. The whole thread can be a somewhat interesting and fun read (unless you're somehow offended by a bit of satire).

edit: * To clarify, politics was banned prior to the tournament, but the things you can read in the thread (TL;DR: tears, perhaps unnecessary fears and people exaggerating for "no/bad/wrong" reasons) are part of "the reason".

Honestly I do not understand why was that polandball comic deemed "offensive" in any way but banning political discussion on the forums is probably for the best.

Last tourney was started later so it would be easier for people from Americas to play. Of course no americans actually signed up at all despite the time change and it actually made it worse for Australian players to play.
It is simply pointless to please american timezone people since the only one guaranteed to take part in one is Shadowfury. On the other hand There is a guarantee of at least one australian player signing up every tourney.

Indeed, i saw no benefit of changing the date previously except the confusion generated being a bit hilarious.

Added EErank[ISP]Lauri and USrankStuart98 to roster.

Ironically, it made my life harder because I had stuff to do that afternoon, which is also true this Saturday (though this Saturday said stuff is happening 4 hours later than last month, so I'd have been able to do about 6 hours of tournament, which would probably have been the whole tournament).
