This is going to be the third installment in the 1-day series.

Signup here, or report directly in thread.

The games will be played starting at 20:00 UTC, March 15, 2014.

The rules are as follows (and as previously used):
- Single BO3 elimination, finals are BO5
- First map of each match is preselected
- For consecutive rounds, loser picks map.

The list of seed maps will be announced on Friday.

Bracket will be seeded by elo.

Tournament will take place if at least 8 people sign up. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill.

EXTRA SPECIAL FEATURE 1: Winners will get kudos awards! 75 for Gold, 50 for Silver, and 25 for Bronze.

(Additionally, a Hall of Fame is reported to be under construction)

EXTRA SPECIAL FEATURE 2: Unless this fails spectacularly, there will be next 1v1 tourney in May, and another 2v2 tourney in April!

As the tourney organizer, i will not be participating.

Sign me up. If I forget or can't make it, just ban me or something, I don't really care :)

Side note: normal games are boring - make more stupid rules next time! like no def, or with some of ivica's mods

I would love to play, but it would be too late for me if it is starting at 8pm. I like the idea of kudos prizes for the winners. Wasn't there something about special com skins for tournament champions?

If more people agree with that opinion, moving the date by 1 day is not a problem.

I'd rather do any schedule changes very early, so anyone who would like the date changed has until tomorrow morning (UTC 10:00) to voice their opinion.

Personally I'd prefer a Fri/Sat night tourney, so no work to get up for the next day.

Good excuse to get some games in before the tournament. I've been busy for the last 2 weeks or so and it seems like quite a few people have improved their ranking at my expense during that timeframe.

Btw, the challonge link has an excessive comma.

That'll teach me to not skip embedding them in [ url].

I don't think this can be had so soon, but if so, there'll be an EXTRA SPECIAL FEATURE 3

That's half of my rationale behind picking Saturday. The other half was that everyone would be rested and at their best.

My Saturday (PST) mornings and afternoons are typically free, so if you want commentating then that's more likely to work out.

GBrank[GBC]1v0ry_k1ng note that Sunday night UTC is Monday morning in parts of the world. Sat night UTC is probably the most universally practical.

7/8 already in :)

Note that PDT (PST) mornings are actually UTC (GMT) evenings.

The current specified time of 20:00 UTC is actually 13:00 PDT, which seems to fit well with "mornings and afternoons PST".

20:00 UTC works out nicely (I try to do Saturday streams at 1PM), though 17:00 UTC would work better as it does mean my evening is more likely to be free.

Sign me up. I can do a day later. I could to a day earlier if the tournament runs for less than 4 hours.

Sign me up. UTC 20:00 is a bit late for me, but as long as the tourney takes under 4 hours, i am fine.

I have a question though: Is there a limit to the map pool? I mean, are we allowed to pick overly large maps (like DSD, or non-small supreme battlefield) or shitty gimmick maps (like duck or trololo_zombie)?
