In the light of recent discussions about promoting small games, I think it's a good time to consider a 2v2 tournament. Who would be interested in participating in one? Ideas about rules and format are welcome (inter-clan teams yay or nay, etc.). The only thing that's kind of sure is that it has to be a 1 day tournament. Note that with this post I'm not claiming I'm going to organize one.

FTFY On a relevant note, I would be interested in a 2v2 tourney. I think that inter-clan teams would be fine because there is no PW rivalry going on currently and.

How would you pick the pairs...? I can only think of clanmates together but then there would be an unfair advantage over a tagteam made of 2 newbies Edit: Nvm, tag teams should be made of pairs that choose themselves imo

Yes, teams would be made by players themselves.

We know this is popular now, so who would be willing to host it? I would be willing, but I have no idea how to go about it or how normal methods would work with ZK.

I prefer 3v3, but would 2v2 with someone just for the sake of promoting mumble and the team tournament. Requirements for my partner would be Mumble and some training games with me just to get into 2v2s. Random thought: Maybe players could record their games and optionally voice (if using VOIP), so people who eventually want to cast can show player cameras in a corner. The voice overlay would be epic to advertise ZK as a teamgame.

It's probably best if everybody got several people they would play with, just to make sure that once the event starts we can get as many teams as possible and can cope with some partners missing due to timezone/work/etc. After all, in 1v1 tournaments it only needs two people online at the same time. Here it takes four.

suggestion regarding saskis sheduling hint: play at random teams, who is available at a time etc. each winners player get scores. so indivisual player can be compared at the end. additional rules are needd though, so you cannot win by having played more games than others or with higher elo teammates etc.

Wouldn't that be overcomplicating things? It's probably easier if everybody just picks a teammate for the evening and we do all the games in one go, just like with the last 1v1 tournament.
