Since today I see laser nanos instead of spray or nothing (I usually saw nothing).

Nanospray is for the players with shader support, and nanobeam was supposed to be the fallback for the players without. So it is working correctly now.

Any way we can choose the nano 'laser' instead of spray? I kinda like the laser, sometimes, especially since they made it so that the dual beams on the Clam actually sweep from side to side, sometimes. It gives things a more Supreme Commander-esque feel. UEF! UEF!

the new engine caused laser nanos to show up if you are on low detail
on .91, for some cards including mine (Radeon HD 6800 Series), neither nanoclouds nor nanolasers could show up.

Yes, you can do it by editing* the lups.cfg in your spring folder.
*It isn't quite as simple as 'beamnano = true' and may require some trial and error.
