Renameing Commands Broken

In the past I could occasionally use the /nick and /rename commands successfully, but recently it just says, remameing, lobby will restart. The lobby however, does not restart, but instead stays there and i have to manualy close. When i rejoin it says i have incorrect username/password, and i must use the original username to log in and the original name is what is shown at my home and in games.

Any way i can fix this and get it to work?

I never had this context for clicking the restart butt before, but the only time i notice error with restart button is when I get impatient and click it more then once or twice.
maybe I'm just lucky *shrugs*
