Every time I play there's that one guy that quits the minute the game starts. AND I'M ALWAYS THE ONE GETTING THE COM! (Regardless of game and round) Why is this? Does zero K hate me?

AFK units get given to the highest rated player on the team - so if you're getting them all the time the reason why is "you got gud".

Now imagine there's only 9 other people in the entire game that get priority over inactive units. And only about half of them play regularly, and only half of the active ones are playing when you are. What you can do is have the commander build the nearest metal extractor and then pop down/reclaim the free factory token, pretend it's a caretaker and have the extra comm assist your actual factory. Or keep two factories for more unit counter options. If you get more than 1 extra inactive commander at start, call !exit vote and explain why. At that point it's a bad game and people often agree and restart it. I do wish there was an option to forfeit receiving inactive units.

i kinda wish it would split the units to the closest alied units.. so if i have a radar tower west and my ally has a radar tower east it will split the guy who goes afk in middle giving half to east and half to west

Welcome to the cursed. We lurk in the night, we moan in the shadows, all shall hear our pain

Getting a com isn't so bad if you let go of the psychotic need to use it effectively and just let it work as a nano. The extra factory can be plopped down 1-2 minutes into the game after you know what the enemy is doing. Or you can just plop it and eat the metal. Or you can just plop down spider/air because those are always useful because OP scouts. Getting an entire flank in the mid-late game is pretty shit though, and something that could probably be improved. Generally the nearest player should get it. The highest ranked dude that is on the opposite side of the map is a bad choice. Luckily I rarely have that problem. Mediocrity has its perks =)

The highest ranked player probably has the awareness to share the units to the best nearby player.

Better i get com from low lever lobster then get two com from start cuz uneven player number. This situation isn't so bad. Bad is when u got two comshit start and then two lobstas fall off in game start and u have 4 coms. Like i had in one game.

And u can give that com another player with all units. I always do that thing if this com is too far away from me.

I'd suggest to self-d all afk shit u don't wanna get, maybe then devs will go ahead and implement an option of "I never ever wish to receive an AFK unit" may lead to some bans though :D

can just ctrl + a > fight command at enemy direction.. then reclaim all factories.. might take 5 mins off your frontlines.. to stop crabs leaving spires and such.. its a hopeless situation anyway because your team looses available apm just noticed tiny spiders avitar no-longer is being used

It can still badly imbalance a front. If you've got two players south, two centre and three north (including you) and one of the south ones goes AFK your team is pretty screwed...

Well, players dropping sometimes is inevitable, that's more of a nature of the game problem than a who gets the shit problem.

i think its easier to manage a front if its all localized.. my main gripe is when im managing two separate fronts and cant focus on them both if they both get pushed top + bottom of map if units are given locally then i can just manage a wider front and its not as bad as a split front.. for me at-least

ai is noob too.. plays like a dirtbag but at-least it doesn't start making a second bertha while loosing the front-line.. then resigns when you dont defend it

What happens then after the player de-afks?

Some skirmishers are pretty great on autofight. Slings, for example. They will pretty much never die if your enemy doesn't got out of their way to chase or counter-arti them.

Nothing unusual, units keep memory of ownership so the AFKer still gets his stuff back.

Has anyone ever wondered why you can gift units without consent?
