I think center mountain needed love, it looks like a boxy something of unknown shape.

the center is meant to be the remains of a huge marble boulder that fell from space into a sea and sank to the bottom and cooled down.

half a billion years later, the planet dried out and a technological civilization decides to make a highway, finds the boulder is in the way and opts to cut through instead of going around.

It looks too uniform also it is not a circle, which should be the case if it was a molten glob.

it wasn't molten, just got hot during reentry....and asteroids and such don't need to be round unless they're at least hundreds of km across.

I suppose you're right about the texture, it's a bit too uniform.

Im pretty sure asteroids dont stay together upon atmospheric reentry. They heat up and disintegrate. If they are big enough to survive that they would create a crater. This map does not have a crater, and so I cannot play it as the lack of realism makes this map unplayable.

Also, marble does not exist in space, as it is formed by a long period of high heat and pressure under the crust.

The technological civilisation should have cut a tunnel!

It is hard to blast a tunnel from orbit.

Fealthas, Most likely the planet has no atmosphere, so will not disintegrate, but will on impact, and even if water, at the speeds its going water is as hard as rock, so all bang. I don't know if there is a scenario where a meteor can mold onto the surface like a pimple. maybe a rare event of it slowing approaching and getting lodged on the surface?

Everybody knows there is no such thing as a tunnel in the holy Spring Engine! Even thinking of such a thing is heresy!
