Cyber bullying

I think people are trying to out-group him until he's lost to attrition. That's how work places do it. If someone doesn't fit the culture you just make it harder and harder for them until they're strangled out. No need for epic confrontation. I consider it a type of bullying.

To be clear, I think that a lot of the crap he has put up is worth showing your disapproval for. But (and I've used this argument here before), it's no good constantly telling someone what not to do. That doesn't give them options. If I yell at you every time you annoy me, I might condition you into not annoying me, but you might respond by conditioning me not to yell (by annoying me more every time I do). You don't know any alternatives so even if you feel punished for annoying me in some way, it's better than doing nothing for you.

@FirePluk has the most balanced feedback for hedgehogs. This might explain some of FirePluk's success in propagating his mannerisms - if he offers the most consistent feedback in both what he deems acceptable and non-acceptable, it would make sense that people follow his lead. Resign!

IMO, we should be down-voting his posts every time he shit-posts, but only if we're equally diligent in up-voting every time he produces content, which he does do sometimes. He seems fairly oblivious the social climate here. It's like a 13yo boy walking into an old people's home and giving them a lecture on how best to approach the challenges of old age. It's jarring and irrelevant. But he has been improving both in his content and his play, so I don't think we should be trying to get rid of him: he's not beyond redemption. Give him feedback, let him learn.

You offer advice as if you have achieved competence, when this is not the case (though like I said, you are certainly getting better). While I don't really consider anyone in this community to be expert level (compared to the level of expertise people achieve in other games), we have played for a long time and we do have a lot of stuff figured out that you don't. If you phrased your opinions differently (as opinions or questions instead of facts) it would invite less criticism.

If steam happens, there are going to be 10,000 hedgehogs at your door. I think we need to change how we work if we want to accommodate them. We are grumpy in-grouping hardcores who will be left behind if we can't coexist with casuals. You want the clusterfuck of milk and honey don't you?
