We needa new punishment for excessive resigning. Double elo gain. If such punishment is on you, every time you resign 10 minutes before game end, you gain twice as much elo as your team lost. Especially effective vs RUrankFirepluk [/honk]

lol i wonder how much elo he would get before he would stop resigning. It would be abused by others to farm elo though, I know farming elo is pointless but some would do it anyway :P.

Really though people could just kick firepluk or join the serious host.

>get high elo
>get worse teammates
>"shitty team, might as well resign"

the coc says people have to cooperate so people who never talk should also be punished with mute

Elo is a measurement, not a reward.

It is nice that you managed to play one ( Multiplayer B404436 4 on Ravaged_v2 ) match on serious host.
But that was ten days ago and since then there have only been 3 other matches.
And the last matches before that were 3-5 months ago, mixed with shit like Multiplayer B376989 3 on trololo_v2 ,excactly the shit that is not 'serious' at all. So this does not work. Not interessted in a gamble whether the "serious" game I invenst waiting-time into will be troll shit or not.

The 'experienced' host and 'serious' host or 'small games' have never worked reliable. Since years.
https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K-Infrastructure/issues/921
Only difference is the title, inside is still shitmaps and shitsettings. Totally ridiculous that 'serious' games would need their own special host, it should be other way around! How are shitmaps and shitsettings considered normal enough to be in 'official All Welcome' room? Has playing normal RTS become such small niche even in this community?
The only thing those totally defunctional and non-used hosts are good for is to justify more trolling: "Oh, you want more than one metalspot to expand to? Why do not go to the serious host!"

Everyone knows how trolls sometimes play bad ("unusual tactics", "dumping elo") on purpose. Not as extreme as teamkill but not making any mobile units at all, only building fusions and DDM whole game, no matter if team dies. But that is considered totally normal too. Today I dumb the elmo wub wub. Rating systems and the ladder really have a lot of meaning when players play bad on purpose.
Not really fault of players even, but how anyone can still care about elo and hold it to any value after seeing such matches?
There even already exists a modoption to turn off elmo. Put it on some autohost, and you would get ranked and unranked matches.
But no, admins are too busy to feature some maps and unfeature some maps and feature some maps and unfeature some maps because writing "I featured this map" and writing "I unfeatured this map" gives their existance some meaning or something.

Probally not serious, but anyway: Somewhat good/situational-aware players do not need to talk much to cooperate. I prefer talkless cooperation over spamming the whole map with drawings like "defend here" *paints line through center of map* before match even started.

Knorke, do ever stop saying disabused opinions?

What do you mean by "disabused"? "proven wrong"?
+0 / -0
Admins can't enforce non-silly maps on the official hosts because there is no single voice, every admin speaks for himself and more admins are clusterfuck people than not.

Also the community is 80% clusterfuck players too so if you make a shitgame host then everyone just goes there by default. If you get more extreme and ban shitgames on public hosts then people will just make a private game and everyone goes there instead.

Proven right or proven wrong is not so important. The key point is enjoying the game while it lasts.

It's knorke's main point too. He wants the game to both be more enjoyable (proper games) and to last longer (proper games lead to retention).

banned players can be prevented to play multiplaywrs until they manage to beat a circuit + zgbai team armed only with himself and a bunch of CAIs

I can't unfeature maps. Map featured status is in the database, database is not on github - instead admins have an interface on site.
Even if I could, actually I still couldn't because other admins would instantly feature shitmaps back (happened with icy run).

I could make official rooms only allow featured maps but that does nothing as long as things like icy and trololo are actually featured and people keep refeaturing them.

Springie config is in the database too except that can't even be changed by admins, only people with direct server access. Here the situation is simple: there is an override voice, Licho won't allow removal of clusterfuck room.

Which admin mostly plays what (people not on this list but on knorkes are actually inactive but just happened to login once recently):
clusterfuckproper games
FIrankAdminAlcur
@Rafal[ZK]
CZrankAdminLicho
RUrankAdminikinz
CArankAdminShadowfury333

What ever happened to MYrankxponen? :(

Either way, a simple fix to RUrankFirepluk is... you know...

SIMPLY KICKING HIM WHENEVER HE DOES HIS EARLY RESIGNS. Use your tools. Seriously. You have a practically self-administrating environment (where you are acting as citizens with minor enforcement powers.). You do not need admins to administer your clusterfuck games. You just need people to agree upon what is okay and what is not okay then form an alliance that reaches critical mass (~15 players) so that you can always carry out the punishment.

However, such punishment must be:

- Clearly explained that the behavior is unacceptable now.
- Consistently punished (Meaning: 1.) you must kick him every time he does it. 2.) you must not kick him for 'no reason' / lulz. Moment the behavior stops, the punishment must stop as well. Otherwise you'll make another USrank[Anteep] )
- Must not be 'randomly' or for social things, less you create an anti-social environment. EG: Those unjustly punished will seek 'revenge' and try to kick you. Which is not what this system is for. If this environment takes this path, I suggest reporting anyone who 'randomly' kicks anyone -- even if said person is unpopular.

For starters, say that resigning before 7 minutes is now kickable. Anyone who agrees to this should call a kick vote for anyone who resigns before 7 minutes after the game has ended. This way they get locked out of a game. This will lead to slightly longer games and make i t more enjoyable for everyone. And all you have to do is simply enforce it. !kick fire resigning too early. Not very hard to type. !kick _sha for lobster/resign spam. Easy.
