Hello Guys, the description of the Infiltrator says: Infiltrator - Spy, Anti-Heavy It also has the capacity to shoot a paralyzing bolt that will freeze ANY ONE target, good AGAINST HEAVY enemies and enemy infrastructure. So last game the enemys built a detriment, i wanted to freeze it with 10 infiltrators, and it only got around 10% paralyzed ?!??!?! I think this shouldnt be, Infiltrator is called ANTI HEAVY - Infiltrator should one hit freeze the detriment like any other unit too.... I hope this isnt wanted and it get fixed.... So far winniebaer

I was spec in this game and I second winniebaer. Maybe rename infiltrator to "anti human sized units". I guess the detriment is a heavy unit, but infiltrator doesn't do its job vs detriment. Why is it called anti heavy?

It's called anti-heavy because it is effective against things like Sumo and Dante. Even Bantha, though you need about six or seven at once + other EMP units to keep it down. Detriment takes too many to do reliably at full health, but that's the way it goes.

Remember that you can damage the target to increase its susceptibility to EMP.

The wonky way EMP recovery works is hardcoded in the engine, unfortunately.

->"Infiltrator should one hit freeze the detriment like any other unit too...."

No. Just NO.

nah wolas, that should be wrong. maybe you got some drones around, too. and the effect of the drones bugged the effect of the infiltrator?

KingRaptor is right, the emp effect stacks with other emp units, not to mention the emp is more deadly the more damage the det has taken.

There simply isn't a 1-hit win unit against det. Even dgun takes like a dozen or two direct hits before it can kill it. You need to combine all of your offensive power to kill it. Thats what a 28k metal investment means.

Ok I have no problem with that. But please, rename the "anti heavy" to something else. Like anti "medium units". Otherwise it's a noobtrap and anyone that didn't try would build 1 spy to EMP a detriment.
As of now the spy isn't an anti heavy so I suggest we change its name. Who agrees on that, except wolas who already does?

Detriment is on a whole other level from heavy. I would call it ultra-mega-super-heavy.

I think the name is fine. Heavy means Reaper up to Bantha, although even Bantha may be a bit too big to be merely heavy. I don't think it is worthwhile redoing the naming scheme to fit in a few rare off the scale units.

It doesn't 1 hit freeze a full health Dante or Sumo because the unit only costs 280. Even though it is only EMP, 280 cost 1-hitting Sumo would be very effective.

The name is fine, redoing unit classification would be mad. However the unit description is a bit misleading and probably should be changed. That said, there are many units without a desciption at all, so they come first.

I would rename it into Anti-Com or Jack-Killer.

It should be a name who suggests 2 Infiltrators to counter a Sumo or something like that.

--> Anti-Damaged-Heavy-From-Fabs or Anti-Com <-- would be my suggestion.

Anti heavy (almost) would suit best :D

det isnt heavy...its like super heavy, so its just fine

for 24k M det should not be paralyzed by only...what 2k? or 4k M worth of infiltrators

Edit: I realised after posting that this is a 10 month old topic that was ressed because winniebaer edited the origional post.

A reaper at 850 cost and 6,800 HP is 'heavy'. Spy does 8000 EMP damage at 280 cost. The spy makes 3x cost against a reaper.
A sumo at 2200 cost has 12,500 HP. It requires two spies. Spies make ~4x cost.
A dante at 3500 cost has 11,000 HP. It requires two spies. Spies make 6.25x cost.
A Bantha at 10500 cost has 36,000 HP. It requires 5 (4.5) spies. Spies make 7.5x cost.

A Detriment is 24000 cost. Over 10x the cost of a sumo, so you would expect it to take 20 spies. It only takes 11, lets call it 12 to be safe. Spies make ~7x cost.

The spy is a highly effective anti-heavy unit. For-cost comparisons are all that count. Raiders will beat riots, and air beats AA, if you have enough. What matters is a for-cost comparison.

> implying that it is easy to hit these units with 4+ spies

but we all know only noobs use any of these units unsupported by spam.

I reality Spy would only be used on weights up to Dante because it takes far too much coordination to move many spies in before your target can respond.

Yes. Spam is the counter to spies whether it is a Comm, a Reaper or a Detriment. Being anti-heavy, it is hard-countered by light units, as you'd expect. This is the same as the Skuttle, Ultimatum, etc.
