I set a Zeus to defend my commander. My commander got hit by a big bertha on the other side of the map. The zeus starts walking towards where the bb fire is coming from. I selected the zeus and held down shift to see where the zeus was going and it showed it was going to attack a hill way out of radar range where I assume the big bertha was. If it wasn't for this I would have had no idea where the the big bertha was.

Sounds like the OTA Arm campaign :P
OT: the issue is an engine feature so it is not simple to fix.

Defend command is crap and just not worth your time. Unless you want to make cons assist one con you have hotkeyed.
You should have seen the direction that Berthas' projectile came from anyway. I don't think this is an exploit in any way.

Woah - this is probably an exploit that defeats Snipers!
1) have two Reapers in range of enemy sniper
2) set them to guard each other
3) when sniper shoots one, the other has an attack order to the snipers location
Win!

there might be a difference between cloaked and not yet revealed units. sniper is wacky in its own way and may override this mechanics. science must be done.
