Updated for ZK, so it doesn't crashes the UI. Windmills are disabled (we are deep into space anyway).

Zomg, next 1v1 tournament could use "Space" as a theme!

RUrankivand has asteroid fetish :D

Yeah, those three asteroid maps by Beherith are one of the best maps out there. Too bad the maps author and Complete Annihilation authors got into argument whether map or mod should decide which units to allow for construction. So the dispuite ended up in placing malicious gadget into the map archive which were breaking CA/ZK UI, if one tried to build windgen.

I only reimplemented that gadget properly and made a map description in lua, opposing to deprecated way.

We tried this map, but it crashed the server.
infolog: http://pastebin.com/RGhDK8Tn
quote:
[f=0000000] Warning: Server not reachable

Every Elerium became unresponsive after this.
Springiee also didn't react for a while, then prompted: http://pastebin.com/X4q4nKGa
and worked again as normal. The faulty Elerium was no longer there.

There were a lot of messages of the type
quote:
Nightwatch 23.5.2015 2:05:42 Error Error storing message: System.Data.Entity.Core.EntityException: The underlying provider failed on Open. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "zero-k_ef" requested by the login. The login failed.

in #zkerror.

Are you sure you trying the map was the actual cause?

Tbh, I'm not sure if it's the map, that was just my first suspicion, since it use to give trouble and is now "fixed".

It's a Zero-K infrastracture crash. Unlikely to be related to the map.

I like http://zero-k.info/Maps/Detail/42157 more, but that one is really big.

Featured, as with the other fixed asteroid maps.

A unit being disabled without any explanation looks like a game bug to newbies.
Consider either explicitly conveying that information or enabling winds.

The map also seems to favourise south due to their nearest expansions having double mexes but perhaps it can somehow get offset through other factors.
Consider enforcing shuffle.

Sounds doable. Any suggestions how?

or enabling winds
If mapoptions were supported, I'd have ability to turn it on and off now.

Disabling winds is already available through a mod-option so no need to introduce a map-option for that.

No idea how to convey disabled units properly if the feature is to be kept. I don't think simple methods (like a popup text box with explanation) are good enough to justify having such a gimmick in a featured map. It is also hard to reliably convey that through lobby.

Apophis itself should not be featured in its current form because it arbitrarily disables a unit set without any notice. Void water (including space) interacts very badly or not at all with a lot of game mechanics too. I think the correct course of action regarding it would be to let Apophis be featured for now but replace it as soon as a proper derivative map appears.
I agree. It also does not play well in 1v1. The metal layout and terrain imbalance is too large.

This map is not well designed and I am unfeaturing it.
