My reaper (~75 elmo/s) was outrun by a speed upgarded guardian commander(~50 elmo/s) because it kept zig-zag'ing even though having a move order. Is this Unit AI or Spring Pathfinder?

I'm getting tempted to port my AI's pathfinder to lua, the amount of time lost to babysitting units that get stuck in every corner really adds up.

If it's that good then put your pathfinder in the engine. I don't want any pathfinding in lua.

It's no replacement for engine pathfinding. It can't recalculate paths every frame, it can't calculate paths at elmo precision, it can't path around other units, it can't path units with a wide footprint.

I got pwnt by a nub so I was kinda salty. It may just be because of the commanders' projectiles terraforming holes into the ground in front of the reaper.

He denied that outrageous claim.

quote:
CHrankAdminDeinFreund pickles.rar?
PTrankraaar PTrankpickles everyone knows pickles get zipped
PTrankpickles why would i be raaar?
PTrankpickles that'd be like
PTrankpickles so wrong
PTrankpickles like
PTrankpickles yeah

So how do you dare making such assumptions.

I didn't actually realize until now that pickles was in that game, I was too busy drawing a portrait of DEranktopf

Probably not.

Yes it can.

I don't know that spring's can either.

I'm pretty sure spring uses pushing/sliding physics for that, not pathfinding.

Neither can spring. Probably.

The speed is limited by cost suppliers. Some of those need to do quadtree lookups for every coordinate, no way you can do this without caching.
