Why does EMP missiles have a much higher arc than other missiles?
I find that unintuitive.
Are they supposed to be able to go through shields and terraform and be basically unstoppable?

It is probably for antinukes hidden behind cliffs and to make the missile take longer to hit its target without reducing the speed significantly.

@googlefrog does the Protector even target EMP missles? I thought it only fired and missle launched from Silencer

It does not, but the EMP missile is good for disabling Protectors before a nuke launch.

Is it not possible with the new engines to create nukes and small nukes which hit the target directly from above?
Would it be good for balance?

Suggestion: Give newtons the same impulse it had before( now they are changed and i gues
xponen
made that, and it takes 2X more newtons to do the jobs space lunching and other stuff needs) and +200 or 100 more metal cost in case we give them trajectory change ability of missiles.

Why isn't our "ICBM" from the Silencer actually ballistic? It goes straight up and then points at the target.

Because the map is flat. There's no "intercontinental" in ZK. As a result, there's no real need for ballistics in the missile.

Also because the "ICBM" part is random holdover fluff from OTA.
