You get a (probably slow-moving) unit far away from a factory, or you get to get a unit without paying for the factory.

Why? Having your units live while your opponent's die is its own reward, you get to keep your army and make it bigger. An additional positive feedback device isn't really necessary.

USrankTheDarkStar: I think he is talking about veterancy on its own, not morphing.

the only exception is morfing ravagers>reapers>goli and bandits>pyro all other morfs are fairly usless

Morph access is the only benefit worth mention. Some can be pretty useful.

Don't forget about flea - glaive - warrier - zeus - crabe - scorp - funnelweb!
Also, a bandit can eventually become a det through morphing (the last time I checked).

A flea can become a det. Seen it happen in a pro vs nub match (though getting 3x the metalcost of the bantha damaged was sort of hard for the pro).

Even without morphing, units get some small improvements with experience, only thing i remember though is accuracy. So your berthas will get better at hitting stuff over time.
Not sure if fire rate was another one of these...

Huh? When did that happen? Don't tell me with the bandit "nerf" (rather fix)...

it was done way back when ZK was young and just growing legs, ie. at the start of the universe (a long long time ago)

Some ZK dev said the opposite not long ago... The question is if i'm faster searching for it or if some dev comes to clear this up...

I'm pretty sure we've removed accuracy gains but there are probably some other hardcoded OTAisms we don't know about. Apparently rocket spread (Recluse, Blackdawn, Catapult) decreases with XP but I've never noticed it. Maybe this effect is handled by the accuracy multipler tag which we've already set to 0.

exp indicators are very useful at giving players an idea when their units are proving effective.

beyond that, a few of the morph chains are useful.

I think this was removed to prevent units balanced by being innaccurate or low HP rapidly transcending these cons

Experienced units should be stronger, that could stop noobs like me caring only for a commander.

I too like when veteran unit has more hp and so on it just makes sense and you want to save your unit -> more fun. I dont care about some rare cases when 1 glaive will defeat other glaive always.

I think units gain HP regeneration with levels. And nukes seams to build faster.

Direct combat boosts (HP, range, speed, acurasity,...) are nice if units become obsulate later in a game. It gives you a short term advantage till your opponent reaches the next tier. But if units stay good all time, you want new units to be able to fight vertans 1on1 for balance reasons. Imagin your houre old glaive killing newly build warriors, fun for you, more then frustrating for your opponent.

er

noobery aside -- exp in ZK is shown with 4 levels of cheveron, so any implentation could follow these rather than the spring exp system. eg. fixed 5%/10%/15%/20% bonus on level. that could also be set to have specific benefits for each unit.

eg. assaults gain health, raiders speed etc.

ofc this is a silly idea overall

If there were to be levels/ranking, I would also much more prefer them to be discrete. But really, gaining raw stat bonuses with experience doesn't make that much sense.

And I absolutely agree with this.
