Adding units to factory queues in different ways

Hi, in a stream I heard someone say that you can add units to factory queues in different ways:
- Add a unit to the front of the queue.
- Add a unit to be built in a once-off fashion, ignoring the repeat mode.


I couldn't find any reference to this in the wiki or hotkey list, though. Does this functionality really exist?

I know holding alt will allow you to put units in front of queue, but they are made only once

Yeah, I just found it in the "Beginners guide" on the wiki.

It's also in "Factory Commands", it seems.

I don't know why those pages didn't turn up when I was searching before. I guess I was using the wrong keywords.

Another thing is that you can drag and drop build items in your queue.

Out of curiosity, whose stream was it? If it was mine, then I should probably add some kind of key display for modifier keys. I've gone back and forth on the idea, but it sounds like enough undocumented things exist that it would be helpful.

AFAIK, pressing alt will add in front of the queue but not begin the building immediately.

Is there a way to force start the building of the unit?

I guess you could Alt-click to queue the unit and then right click the current unit to cancel its construction?

Settings/HUD Panels/Command Panel

untick "Alt Inserts Behind"

only works if the factory is not set to repeat though
