A crazy idea, targeted at *pluks mostly (but others are welcome to join:)
We need a standard for trolling. Like, a proper clan [TR0LL], like in the good old days, with its own code of conduct etc. Being member of the clan does not allow you to automatically insult everyone, but it could be used to affect autobalancer, for instance such that trolls are not allowed to make up more than 20% of a team.
The membership and clan tag are enforced, so even if you don't want to be a member you have to, which would warn new players of troll presence around.

This sounds like a soft version of "Segregate to troll host".

Self-proclaimed "TR0LL" just seems kinda sad to me. What even is "trolling"? Seems like everything is labeled troll nowadays, cant even morph my com without being called troll.

Why honor them?
Just ban away or segregate to troll host to not interrupt team games.

Chesti, the reason is very simple - you can not ban all trolls. BUT you could improve the quality of trolling. You can include it as part of the game layout. Kinda like legalizing drug and hookers=)

Do you remember what happened after u've banned @Anteep? Some trolls are tech aware and have too many free time and there are too many days without admin presense at all

Anteep gets banned daily, where is the problem?

The problem is a time waste and the cases when you and any other admin were away DErankChesti - this results in successful self-d/tk/ally com-nap etc... and massive frustration to everyone
i.e. troll still exists with the one difference - you can't control him effectively anymore

DErankChesti, multiply @Anteep by... Lets say 100... Or 500...

So lets consider that troll host (only for trolls). Everyone can join.
normal teams host is only allowed after u played X games or have lvl 10 or so.
If Anteep would have been marked as troll he would be seperated to troll host and new accounts would get banned but wouldn't harm teams host because new accounts aren't allowed to join immediately. Same behviour for other trolls.

So you're saying that you'd give all newbs to the mercy of hungry trolls by default?
smart move, DErankChesti ;)

So new players would start out in the troll host? That sounds like a terrible idea.

Sorry just got up.
Obviously not. It was meant that trolls are allowed to join trolls host where they belong. And it would be contraproductive to let newbies join troll hosts only. Did u miss the logic here? If u see "new" smurf this can be segregated to troll host.

And how do you differ smurf from newb

U see it after time. And it isn't that problematic because new accounts cannot join teams hosts. :-)

Just direct newbies to clans with set standards with regard to their member's behaviour. This will also tell them who they "can" play against outside of their clan by just looking at the clan tag of other players.

FRrankAstrobe, I think you might have hit the gold here! Problem is, clans are very loosely bound internally. However, it may be worth trying out. I'll talk to our GBC guys see what they think of it, but generally the policy was that we accept players that have some basic skills already. Let's see if it is change time=)

As for GBC, i would say it's spirit what matters, not skill.

Godde bashes you into fine paste and you just keep trying? Your first adversary in a tournament is 400 elo above you and that motivates you instead of scaring you? Your teammate has resigned, and you take it as an invitation to do a glorious last stand?
