In this game, we see @Kurosei do almost nothing to contribute to the war effort. Instead, he makes nothing but lobsters while north struggles to hold.

Trolling with lobsters? Its a legitimate emergent gameplay for you!

If it was a legit strategy, we as a team would have gained more utility than what we got in this game. We wouldn't feel like we were down a player. Instead what ended up happening is they did pretty much nothing but beach a few subs while donating quite a bit of metal to the enemy.

The rest of us north struggled while he had fun at OUR expense. We were down a player in north and had no mid because "he wanted to go fly around with lobsters". The lobsters did nothing and provided no utility to us as a team. He did not bother to eco or do anything besides spam lobsters. Mid was ceded just to "play with lobsters" and because of that, we were constantly flanked and were fighting out ecoed. I do not think it is fair to those of us who were struggling fighting outnumbered north.

It isn't fair RUrankFirepluk gets a ban for stuff that's more effective than this crap.

Ideally there would be a way of indicating that you're going to be playing experimentally that the balancer would take into account.

Unfortunately, I'm struggling to see a way that wouldn't result in people gaming it to get easy/relaxed games.

Lobster clouds are hard countered by riots.

Weren't you banned for a day for TKing/griefing recently? I think that mocking me on the forum doesn't help your case nor is it productive to any discourse or discussion. If you have an actual argument to make, how about you lay it out like an adult instead of a preschooler.

Yes, I was banned because I amm generaly speaking behave like an asshole in ZK and i do not deny it. Now, I just noticed your discontent with Omoiyari can be just as easily applied to yourself, ok? When you and terve are snitchbombing, it is just the same as his lobstering.

Dont wanna go into specifics about here... I made my point. People just need to stand up to their own standards.

Snitch dropping should be treated as gunship version of Likho bombardment. The obvious difference is that Charon + Snitch is less metal intensive than Likho, but also includes the Snitch as minimum cost for bombing run. The damage is lower, but compensated by the larger AoE. Naturally it also comes online faster and can really hinder enemy early game by blasting their entire starting army ball into scrap metal.

This makes Snitch drops extremely cost effective against unit balls/stacks of most unit types and in the end of the game, we often have one of the best metal lost to metal killed ratio. You trying to compare Snitch drops to lobster ball that is effectively feeding the enemy with metal is insulting.

Snitch bombing is only 260m (160m if charon is recovered) per bombing run and is generally effective while being moderately low risk. I've seen single runs take out 1.7k+ metal of units. These provide utility as an alternative to air bombing runs. These can swing the tides of engagements pretty easily and can damage/kill comms.

Lobster clouds cost upwards of 2k for a single use. More often than not they do not make cost as they're typically deployed against single comms or units worth less than the losses taken.

If you took the time to understand what I am saying, you would know that I am in reference to this thread which was not even my standard that I am attempting to create or enforce. A precedent was established when RUrankFirepluk got banned for "not playing as a team member", @Kurosei here violated that standard when he decided to make a 2k lobster ball which did pretty much fuck all except donating metal to the enemy.

You don't have a point here as these are two completely different pieces of evidence. You just want to start forum drama (as evident by your mocking post and your generally condescending attitude in other posts replying to me). Not only have roach drops been shown to be effective beyond any measure of doubt, when we as a group do roach bombings or our other stuff, we do attempt to provide other means of support to the team, usually with griding, fusion reactors, assisting allied projects, repairs, or attempting to get rid of threats with the roach bombs. In addition to this, we are very clearly reactive to battlefield conditions and attempt to maximize our win chances. There is a CLEAR attempt at providing utility and often times we do as FIrankterve886 points out.

I don't think we know that Lobster ball was bad. A lot of weird things spent time being unreliable until people refined them.

While it may still be too early to decide if it is objectively bad, Thomas1/Kurosei has had selective play styles in the past when we are historically on the same team. These include: instantly resigning, playing suboptimally, etc. This combined with his unwarranted antagonistic behavior in the pregame has lead me to think he under performed on purpose.

Wow, you guys sure got defensive here. Look, I didnt try to start anything nasty, ok? Just stated my impressions. You can go look up graphs in any of Shaman's snitching parties... easily most metal wasted. And winrate, I can guess, is not stellar.

Thing is, you can bomb with Likho and get back alive. Can you get backk with Charon once enemy has ANY AA? I seen in in action and I do not understand your infatuation with snitchbombing, guys.

And just to be clear, I do not in any way support lobster clouds ok? Stop comparing them to set snitchbombs in favourable light, its clear as day.

I hereby summon AUrankAdminGoogleFrog or any other authority member to settle snitchbombing matter once and for all! My question is: Is snitchbombing a viable and honest game tactic or it its shameful lobbery?!

You should also see the metal killed graphs of any of these games. Name a game, and infer a timeframe of bombing and compare the kill value vs loss value and factor in damage dealt for glancing hits.

I have used Valkyrie/Snitch bombs on rare occasions myself to good effect. However, that happened in situations where I already had a shield and gunship factory available, spotted an especially juicy target, and did not have the time or resources to switch to Likho.
[Spoiler]

I don't have a strong opinion on whether it is a reasonable default strategy to go for without observing that the situation is particularly suited to it. However I find it considerably less objectionable to have on my team than several other default strategies I've observed. (Including, to be clear, some other strategies I've seen pursued by @_Shaman.)

Ok thanks AUrankAdminAquanim... Seems like I'm in the wrong here, so I'll see myself out.

To clarify I don't think you're totally in the wrong. I don't think the Lobster spam strategy was demonstrably worse than things I have seen several other players, including @_Shaman, do on several occasions. To give a concrete example, I don't think it's a whole lot worse than flinging Jacks at the enemy without a specific scouted high-value target in mind.

In other words I think you chose a weak example to support a point, but the point had some amount of validity nevertheless.
