I have been pushing the narrative that some aspects of shieldbots are overtuned (particularly vs Rover) for a long time and seek a wider audiences opinion.

Specifically, I see thug as too cheap and too strong of a shield. I also see outlaw as overly oppressive. Too much aoe, slow and raiding prevention for it's cost, and too synergistic with shields.

I think that this replay highlights how easy it is for shields to succeed even against good thunderbird play.

To even the discussion, I will make the one token concession that shieldbots suffer against recluses.

Shield indeed has an advantage. Has domi been nerfed into oblivion though? In theory its good vs shield.

Additionally, the large amount of fencers confuses me.

Finally, Randy actually generally was doing better in kills, this overall felt like a relatively even game to me. Sure, shield(outlaw mostly) might be overtuned, but I don't feel its anything obscene here.

I believe the forward con force had a large role in the outcome of the match, providing me with battle reclaim as well as porcing in the front lines.

If we were to remove the constructor army from the equation I think the rover+TB would have worked much better

It is most definetly true though that shield has had the edge over rover for a long time on maps that have chokepoints
