What about a rule of ''only use the available upgrades'', is it sustainable the further one goes into campain ? (i think not, one could go all the way to the end on one side and then use the endgame stuff from fourth mission onwards)

There could be a no upgrades rule ( :/ ), OR for each mission to decide on upgrades and unlocks (but then how do you check that ..)
