[q]It is necessary to do this in order to ensure you have the newest version (otherwise you wouldn't be able to play with other people). Now the update itself could be a bit faster, but it is what it is.[/q]

As
my
internet
can
be
spotty
at
times,
Chobby's
need
to
check
for
updates
at
every
launch
has
sometimes
locked
me
out
of
playing
Zero-K
all-together.
I
have
to
manually
disable
my
ethernet
adapter,
so
Chobby
fails
to
update
completely,
instead
of
trying
to
update
at
0.

[q]I guess adding an option like: "Do you want to upgrade now? Warning: You won´t be able to play Multiplayer if not!" takes too much time to implement or are there other, technical reasons? [/q]

I'd go for a launch option, like "$ Mono Chobby.exe --skip-update". No need for GUI-elements, and difficult to use without knowing what you're doing.
