I
once
suggested
adding
some
sort
of
badger
system
that
is
a
mix
of
the
current
level
and
elo
systems.
Loosely
explained:
Badgers
would
be
based
on
"xp"
multiplied
with
"elo".
xp
grows
relatively
fast
in
the
first
few
days/weeks
and
elo
probably
doesn't
change
too
much,
so
for
new
players
xp
is
the
factor
for
progression.
Because
it's
a
multiplication,
as
a
player
gets
more
xp
its
role
starts
to
become
smaller.
This
is
when
elo
starts
getting
slightly
more
important.

[spoiler]Loosely explained: Badgers would be based on "xp" multiplied with "elo". xp grows relatively fast in the first few days/weeks and elo probably doesn't change too much, so for new players xp is the factor for progression. Because it's a multiplication, as a player gets more xp its role starts to become smaller. This is when elo starts getting slightly more important.

The
idea
is
that
"new
players
progress
more
by
playing
games"
while
"advanced
players
progress
by
improving
their
skill",
but
new
players
would
still
also
progress
from
elo
and
advanced
players
would
still
get
xp.
