"Game Over" gray box immediately at start

I've been trying to give ZeroK a shot for the first time, but haven't been having any luck. I've tried to play "Full_Moon-v04" from the campaign and also "Tutorial - Running Start," but every time I launch, there is a gray popup box immediately saying the game is over (with buttons on the outside, but no content in the middle). I can drag this box around, and in that tutorial level (but not the campaign mission) I can even still give orders to my Commander, but clicking the top-right button on this Game Over box closes the game.

Is this my error? Something I'm just not doing right or not figuring out? For a game that's supposed to be polished, I feel like this shouldn't be happening.

HELLO CITIZEN

It would occur you are playing without an opponent! You must have an opponent to bring to justice, or the game will immediately end!

If you would, please try to launch a game in a private host against 1 CAI (right click the playerlist to add one) and report back if it still does it.

Thanks!

I wonder if missions are broken on Linux...

Could you go to Settings -> Game diagnostic log and pastebin the contents?

Also Xubuntu 14.04 here. It looks like you were trying to play without any opponent. You can add a bot by clicking on the "extras" button in the top-left of the lobby then adding the bot you want from one of the submenus.

Even if the user should add an opponent; not doing so should still give you a sensible window telling what happened. Also there are other ways in which a game can end before it has started, so clearly that possibility needs to be considered.
