Attention all committers.

We interrupt this program to bring you an important announcement.

ZK is moving to github.

If you want your commit history mapped to your Github account for whatever reason such as bragging rigths and looking good on your resume, submit your google code username to github account mapping on the appropriate wiki page.

What's the ETA of the GitHub migration?

Soon(tm).

Hopefully github will be easier to understand than the previous google code thing.

There will be a second round of notification after i or someone else figures out how to mass-email all contribs who are not identified yet.

Three days after that, code will be transfered.

So, say, a week?

What will happen to the wiki? Will commit rights be needed to edit it on github? Will everyone have to be given commit rights again?

It will probably be moved to github wiki.

For wiki? Dunno.

For code? No, only a limited nomenclature of peopledom will have direct commit privileges and everyone would be told to use pull requests.

And it's possible that even those people with direct commit access will be told to preferentially use pull requests so that there's more review going on.

No.

It will also be replaced.

Here's the killer feature: it's super easy to setup issue tracker on github in such a way that each opened ticket immediately pings into #zkdev.

In fact, that part is already done. So once there, no more unnoticed tickets.

sadly our current used rapidtools don't support git/github yet, they only support svn atm. the svn bridge doesn't work as it seems to miss some features which are required for svnmirror / rapidtools.

https://github.com/spring/RapidTools/issues/14

i hope thats no blocker...

are we talking about bug report? Do we need an account to report?

To report im in: onecut in Github too.

You probably will get to report without requiring an account.

On a side note, if you register a github account with the same email as you used for google code, the transfer should be automatic anyway.

Why the hell am i listed as contributor?
Will i get commit access to our github repo so i can shitpost there?

There was only one contributor on my list, and that person did not get an email.

Apparently you have commit access.

I am also called jseah on Github.

Don't recall making an account there, but it seems to exist. *shrug*

Thanks everyone. The code has been pushed with history preserved, see https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS

Afaik, site and springie are now set to build from github.

ZKL is also set to build from github, but reportedly has compile issues.

ZK itself is still currently built from svn, and there appears an issue with Springie hosting rapid tags from git: https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K-Infrastructure/issues/2

You should add your email to your github account as a secondary/etc. The commits will be properly claimed then.

Coincidentally, note that some commits (in particular: wiki) won't, because wiki is not migrated and possibly will not use Github.

So, no plans to migrate Wiki out of SVN for now?
