I'm sick and tired of what I see with 95 engine:
- random lags and freezes
- unit animation stucks, cloaked units have no animation at all
- animation of bombers and fighters jittering during reload
- bombers/fighters if ordered to rearm can stuck forever and from now will ignore every command, solution - selfd
- in general game become MUCH MUCH slower, it loads slower and it keeps much lower framerate than on 91 engine
I'd really like to see 1.5years rollback with a total wipe of all those shiny and new bullshit devs made for the last time.
Seriously.
");

This engine didn't bring something new in my experience, it just created new powerful kind of bullshit, THE bullshit much worse we had with 91 engine.

Flame, go!

All Zero-K hosts are already back to spring 91.0, so... what?

Now yes, I see, USrankluckywaldo7
But a few hours ago we wanted to do !setengine 91.0 and it failed.
>> Preparing to change to engine 91.0
and nothing.
So it was WTF.

Well yeah performance is somewhat really bad, need to check out who is eating it all, in later game with
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz
and nvidia 650TI boost 2GB I had only ~17 fps.

Performance is bad indeed, noticably worse than 91.0.

Why do we even try to use newer engines? we are doomed to stay with 91 forever

I dont remember which engine was ~3year ago when I started playing spring, but well it gets only slower. So if lets get back to fastest spring version we would go back to something spring 0.0.1 :)

You're complaining about something AFTER the ZK devs already fixed it?

Priceless.

I've had the same experience. To be fair though, we didn't have a lot of fps-hungry lua things back then.

It has been 6 months now with the same prehistoric engine. We have missed 92.0, 93.0, 93.1, 93.2, 94.0, 94.1 and now 95.0. Why does spring work so badly with ZK? Perhaps we should start looking at getting some c++ programmers and forking the engine.

I like how you say "start looking for C++ programers and fork it" if "we" would be some corporation or something. Maybe start learning C++?

As a player with no knowledge about the code in this game I wonder what kind of black sorcery did you use in order to make zk so incompatible with the engine
I guess it's some kind of very secret stuff since the other mods don't have it :P

Maybe devs asked the devil for a cool mod, and the price to pay was to be stuck in the same engine FOREVER

Yes GBrankTheSponge great idea! Please get us some C++ programmers and make them fix the engine. Inform us on your progress.

Guys... I explained to Licho that my engine is ready for deployment, and
if only SpringLobby could auto-download any engine, then I would release asap.

I guarantee you this engine is faster than 91. If you have a dual or quad core and want to see real performance, this demo is for you:

Screenshots from the same demo are available here:

Without saying that MT would be a good addition (so release your sources if you haven't already, zerver!), we really need to look into why things get slower each patch. Just requiring/using more raw computer power does not fix the underlying issues.

Well, I have done some optimizations that will have effect on single-threaded systems as well, and this means it will be faster than 94 on a single core. If it is faster than 91 also I cannot say, because I did not test it.

IMO you have to accept some degree of increased system requirements, but if done correctly these increased requirements should be (more than) compensated for by the fact that new systems (even notebooks) tend to have multiple cores.

Well this would be totally awesome. For one, SL users could actually play ZK (when it's using 91.0).
