Chilli Chat Bug

I've been having a problem with the Chilli Chat since I've installed Zero-K, and to this day I've failed to solve it.

As you can see in the picture below, any text I or anyone else type appears pitch black, barely readable. This picture depicts text written for everyone, allied ones and spectators, respectively.

I've tried changing the colors assigned to text with Ctrl+F11, Space+Click on the Chilli Chat, but no matter what colors I choose, the text is still pitch black.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

I remember this bug (from long time ago). It have something to do with graphic driver. At that time tweaking some Spring's graphic settings fixed it, I was using integrated graphic at that time (old driver).

Try minimal setting in ZKL. Does it fix it?

P/s: If I remember more I'll post. But for the moment I can't remember exactly how I overcome it.

I'm already at minimal settings, and I'm using an Intel HD integrated graphics card.

Well there's your problem. Try on 94.1 and see if that works. What OS are you using?

If using IntelHD in MS Windows, then updating driver (or changing to any different driver) will 100% fix the chat color issue.

But if its IntelHD in Linux, GBrankTheSponge has more experience.

I'm using MS Windows and Intel HD graphics.

The problem is, it is a laptop and the general Intel driver for my graphic chip is not compatible with my laptop for some obscure and unfathomable reason.

I've already noticed that when the Chilli Chat widget crashes for some reason (like clicking on the steering button that appears on ground units right after you select a gunship), this issue fixes itself when the widget is reloaded.

Isn't there any way for me to fix it without having to change drivers?

There is no way to fix it without changing driver.

If you decide to install the Intel official driver, then do this: (its doable) https://communities.intel.com/thread/31883

If you worry about breaking your laptop, just make sure you always create "Restore Point" before installing/deleting any new driver (or installing suspicious software). You can completely revert any changes this way even if MS Window failed to start.

MYrankxponen, I've updated my driver according to the instructions you've linked to and as you predicted, this solved the color bug.

Thank you for the tip and for having the trouble of searching for that link and posting it here!
