Hm. I've been reviewing the widgets.
Licho's AutoGroup widget won't load (Shows up orange).

Maybe when you're a spectator it turns off. We'll see.

Yes, that's the case with some widgets. Try it ingame.

I have been using it for about a week now and yes, it does not work when spectating. If you can understand a word of it, you can manually edit your control group bindings in [SpringDataFolder]/LuaUI/widgets if you use a local copy and not the one that comes with the game. Get a look at the widget code too, there are some useful settings in there.

I understand the drawback of autogroup (which i tend to use widely), but without it how to you select eg. you raiders, artilery, assaults on the screen selectively? Do you double klick on one of them ore do you use other keybinds?

You can use multiple fronts with autogroup easilly, just add some side attack formation to a new group (not autogroup) and use that.. no problem..
It does not "kill" anything.

It's psychological, not technical. Obviously you can multifront without using control groups at all.

Licho, but then you are not using your auto groups at all.

My advise:
1-4 Combat units.
Early game 1 is your scout, 2 your first group of lings etc
Late game you can put all casters in one group, this is very vulnerable to emp though.
You can put an active creep tumor on group 4 for easier creep spread.

5 - 8 Hatcheries or all hatcheries in 4 and 5+ queens.

Use ctrl-x, same as double click but much easier.
