I propose we make AA shoot the skuttle that eject from transport.

That or decrease the range abit. Currently 3200 worth of Newtons give you like 8000-9000 range where Chainsaw and fighters can only intercept Valkyries at max range and only Screamer is a reliable counter at any range.
Decreasing the range means increasing the rate at which the Valkyrie drops to normal altitude.

I showed my friend this game the other day and he asked "what is that guy doing? why does he have so many of those gravity turrets"
when I showed him what was happening, he was like "wow, that's cool"
it's things like these that make games fun, the weird unintentional strategies
it's the same in a lot of games, the game Gunz pretty much became popular because of all the fun unintended bugs
it's not like it's an OP tactic, it takes a lot to set up and is hard to make it work

It is kind of interessting exploit but imo still exploit.
Limiting flight height seems artificial but maybe have roach fall out of the transport when acceleration forces get too high.

+1 to high acceleration cause cargo to be ejected. This also make transport more realistic.

Why you would want to remove solution to porcy battles? If you dont porc there is nothing which 1 shot would make cost.

Or just remove Newtons. I really can't see their use anymore other than a skuttle cannon.
Alot of other things can perform the role of a Newton with different methods.

I think it is a valid tactic but is tad bit OP with too much range. I guess we could play around with it for a while and see if anyone find a better counter.
Rebalancing the range is easy though

Make it so gravity is based on altitude! The higher units are, the less gravity there is! Too many Newtons and weeeee, bye bye!

space skutle works fine if you remember the game its used in is already in a hopless stalemate, so the only way to win is using cheese...

Stalemates usually don't last that long. Zero-K games are rarely over an hour. Once Big Berthas, Detriments and Starlights are done the stalemate usually end.

Possible newton uses:
As AA (set to attract and catch bombers!)
Push something away. Works GREAT ON HILLS when spiders climbs and falls!
Imagination training. (just look how many all sorta ramps, weird stuff is done with them)

I have played a game recently where it seemed that screamer did either not hit the valkyre or hit it too late, that is the skuttle dropped although a screamer was in place.
Can anybody confirm that observation?

I think screamer has slow turn rate and miss the transport. I saw this in some test case not related to transport.
(because the transport is falling vertically, so the rocket has to curve downward, which is not something it usually do when chasing airplane)

Never seen such thing to happen. What I do is I try to selfd trans earlier before screamer hits valkyre whichs results in skuttle being still dropped somewhere.
Only way to fool screamer is to place valkyre without cargo above screamer it mostly wastes shots, then scuttle screamer itself with trans+skuttle and as good as it sounds in theory I never managed to do so in game successfully... But it is still quite possible.

I agree with wolas. Remember what lead us to this porc-style games… removal of communism >_>. Yea, yea I know - zero-k is not designed for the teamsize we are usually playing it at. 8v8 on 2v2 or 3v3 maps ;)

"It is The solution to porc" is not an argument for Space Skuttles. If this is the case then the tactic is too powerful as there are many other candidates for things which counter porc and they should all be fairly even.
I really like the idea of increasing Valkyrie vertical speed because this would make it better for ordinary drops and transportation. Vindicator has 5x the vertical speed of Valkyrie.
