Is the engine from Tribes 2 and Legions: Overdrive, etc...
Look like this is their move to get back in "indie" game engine wars, UDK and Unity (lots of kickstarter projects are using it) are winning, maybe this will change something.
P.S.: Hope C4 Engine does the same, love voxel terrain.

I discovered how no one is using CryEngine 3/SDK (Crysis)in KickStart or crowd-funding in general, them can NOT, cause the only license for indie that exist for now is for non-commercial product. If you want to use for commercial product you need the normal license, so only mega projects ($2,500,000, running in 2 crowd-funding sites) like Star Citizen can use it.

UDK is begin used a lot less that that Unity, but at least there a indie license still let it be used. Example:
The Remake of Battlezone (1988)

Seem like Unreal want to be back to the game....
quote:
"they’re releasing the source code to Github" "from 9.30 PT today."
Not sure about the license, but do not seem to be 100% open source...
