Arguably default ZK lobby is ok, but its RAM usage is through the roof. Question - is it somehow possible to use e.g. springlobby instead? I mean, 4 Gigabytes? srsly?

I would be quite surprised if there was a compatible version of SpringLobby and extremely surprised if you can use it without losing a significant amount of functionality. If you're worried about maximum RAM then SpringLobby + Spring probably uses more RAM than Zero-K while a game is running because the ZK lobby is just a lua state sitting on top of the rest of Spring. If you're worried about idle RAM, then I guess you're out of luck? Make Spring use less RAM when no game is running? I'm not sure why this task would be urgent.

Not urgent, of course, just really strange that passive RAM use is so high. may be a sign of a problem?

I'm not getting RAM that high. I'm seeing 1.5GB while idle and 2.4GB ingame. What OS are you on?

Archlinux, 64bit. Maybe Mono acting up? I tried to use dotnet runtime but it is shouting obscenities:

# dotnet Zero-K.exe
Unhandled exception. System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly '/home/headhunter/ZK/Zero-K.exe'. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
