Since the server move the constant random lag is just unbearable. There isn't any rhyme or reason to it, a fair amount of people are getting it ( RUrankFirepluk used to*, RUrank[tre]PAK, FRranksaru, FRrankruru, GBrankdyth68, DErankdunno to name a few). Sometimes it just pulls on a blindfold and reks whomever, sometimes it pulls the plug and you get stuck in this limbo of not-catching-up. Discuss?

I will agree that the game feels less smooth and the odd bit of input delay for me since the move but I do not have any stats to prove it. Just a feeling that may be a result from an unknown bias.

That being said I would like to see more openness regarding the server. We have not had an update on the costs in 2 years now on the donation thread and we seem to be way in excess of the estimated amount required on the donation page.

I applied new network settings to clients around the same time as the server move. It's a bit unfortunate that the changes happened at the same time as it makes it hard to untangle causes from anecdotal evidence. I found that turning of the smooth buffer and making the network connection fast results in much better ping compared to the previous hardcoded values (which correspond to reliable network and smooth buffer enabled). I have not noticed much latency variance, but it could be different for different people.

Go to Game under the lobby Settings menu and change Network Connection and Smooth Buffer. Try turning Smooth Buffer on.

It would be good to have the donations page updated. Licho doesn't seem to have gotten around to it.
