Hello guys,

I come with a request from you to tell me if my motherboard ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING can be compatible with an Intel® Core™ i9-9900K Processor.

I was reading more sites regarding the compatibility between these two and I don't want to waste time in sending back the merchandise because it's not compatible.

I was also paying a bit of attention on the Amazon site tot his little info:
[Spoiler]

I am also seeing this site give additional info regarding compatibility but because there is a lot of information on the internet you don't know what source to trust.

Some sites explain that it's compatible, others say that you need something to make your BIOS work with that processor. Is there someone here that can give me simple advice :)? Will I get a bottleneck if I take the I9 in combination with my motherboard?

If you are up to some tweaking & overclocking, you can apparently make it work:

It's not officially supported:

I think that I will also change my Motherboard just to be sure. Any suggestions what motherboard to pick best for an Intel® Core™ i9-9900K Processor?
I need an ATX version or MicroATX.

If you put i9 into the search here, you get a list of Asus ones that support it: https://www.asus.com/support/cpu_support
You can check the online / store where you are at which is cheapest... I usually just look at cpu support, memory clock speeds, and what WiFi chip it has, since wrong WiFi used to cause issues on Linux.

I decided to go with Intel Core i7-9700K Coffee Lake-R in combination with Gigabyte Z390 GAMING SLI.

I saw the differences between I7 9700K and I9 9900K are small but the price is 100 more euros so it's not worth it right now. Of course, the technology of I9 9900K is the latest but right now in terms of Gaming/YouTubing/Streaming is not that much required.

Thank you FIrankVermind for your support :)

Soon I will be able to cast all types of games in Zero-K. It's weird that I lag with an I5 6600K ...but hopefully, in two days I get to test my new I7 9700K.

If you're considering picking up both a new motherboard and a new processor, you might as well take a look at https://www.logicalincrements.com/ to see the state of PC building and breakdowns of similar components.

It looks stupid. There is my recommend build in CNY:

B450M+R5 2600 1339 https://item.jd.com/34381546174.html
RX Vega 56 2099 https://item.jd.com/7576289.html
Asgard 16GBx 858 https://item.jd.com/4211275.html
Gloway 720GB SSDx2 798 https://item.jd.com/7721705.html
Titanium Grade, GP600T 500W 499 https://item.jd.com/2305748.html
Case 129 https://item.jd.com/670043.html
Keyboard + Mouse set 34.90 https://item.jd.com/4064129.html
¥5756.90 (~804.41 USD)

If you like, add some hp omen 600 mouse or Superlux HD681EVO.

However the build maybe will cost you more money on transportation expenses and possiblely without any warranty on China outside If you buy these from China.

My gaming rig is ready, I just changed the motherboard and CPU. Now I have Asrock Z390 Extreme4 and Intel® Core™ i7-9700K Processor and I am going to test Zero-K to see how it goes. It will be weird if I still stutter.
