would like to have group10 group11 group12 commands...

anyway to get around the hard coded constant FIRST_SPECIAL_GROUP ?

You are the reason why biebers of this word exist...
Please don't use autogrouping.

??
by autogrouping do you mean having units of a particular type auto-allocated to a hotkey?
because that's a feature I do use (though mostly only with swifts)

Pretty sure he means just control groups in general since groups #10+ are not reachable by /bind.

It's doable technically but would require a custom widget to provide the hotkeys. In general most people don't use 10+ control groups though so you'd probably need to do it yourself.

your elo is not high enough to have more autogroups.

Hey, having only 10 groups is a pain in the ass when you have 5 different factories

Can you even remember what all the groups are? I feel players waste too much time on configuring groups, focusing on details etc, while half their cons are idle, they are excessing, mexes are waiting to be taken,.... I personally only use autogroup 1 for raiders and swifts, and got in top 5 1v1.

I think this is a general pattern, like wannabe musicians endlessly agonizing over their equipment instead of learning to actually make music.

I need more autogrops

I actually need 10 autogropus for each factory. How can we implement such a thing ?

When selecting units from a specific factory, for example glaves from cloacky boots, and we want to autogroup it we press alt+1 (1-10). So all I just need to do is to press 1 in order to select all of those units.

I propose the next thing, let the autogroup feature to add all of the units in the same way with one condition. When you want to select the unit you just have to press a key before the number, for example you need to press "1" to select glaves. I suggest we need to press C+1 to select glaves from cloacky boots (C= cloacky)

So if we have 2 different units in same autogroup you won't select all of them when pressing c+1. FOr example If I added bandits in the autogroup 1, I need to press S+1 to select all of those units. (S=Shield boots)

THis is just one example, specific letters from the keyboard needs to be personalized because currently "S" key is used for the stop command, while "A" is used for manual attack and so on.

Big problem with that on an implemention side:

's' isn't a "modifier" key like ALT, SHIFT, CTRL.

More autogroups would be only welcome - it is better interface ergonomics, like the line move.

Lets assume, that one has 3 factories in teamgame (Shield, Jumpjet and Air):

Do I want Roaches in group with anything else? (No, ag8)
Do I want Swifts in same group with Thundebirds (No, ag5 and ag7, maybe ag6 for Hawks)
Do I want Pyros in same group with Bandits? (No, Bandits ag1, Pyros ag4)
Do I want Rogue in same group with Firewalker? (No, ag2 and ag3)

I have not yet separated Jacks and Placeholders and already somewhat short of autogroups, now what about mobile anti-air?

Ideally there would be possibility to make autogroup form any given autogroups and bind it to any key, for example Roaches/Eraser combination (something like Xivenders widget), but even just more autogroups would improve ergonomics greatly.

We make it a modifier key @_Shaman same for the other words we don't use in zero-k.

I know that q, r, e ,t y, u ,i o, p, h, j, k, l, z, x, c, v, b, n, m, I don't use in the game. That means a total of 20X (1-10) means 200 autogroups. I barely play with 3 factories at once so I can easily setup a C1 C2 C3...C10 autogroup for a factory and a V1 V2 V3...V10 for another factory while using the default 1, 2 ,3 ,4 ...10 at the same time.

Let me run that through my memory.

q: queue nanoframes on speedmetal, jump, or mex if you've modified tour keys
r: repair (and area repair)
e: reclaim
t: resurrect (and area resurrect)
y: idk
u: idk
i: debug view
p: patrol
h: share units
j: jump (if you didn't bind it to q)
k: cloak/decloak
l: fog of war
z: factories tab (e.g. zq for cloaky)
x: economy tab (e.g. xs for solar)
c: defense tab (cq for defender)
v: special tab (vx to bury commander)
b: some build items after their tab key
n: no idea
m: move

(i also use ctrl+c for settarget)

Conclusion: you should learn to use existing hotkeys before requesting more control groups :P

A modifier key is a key that modifies a keystroke. These are Control (CTRL), Alt, and Shift.

EErankAdminAnarchid....
"q: queue nanoframes on speedmetal, jump, or mex if you've modified tour keys
r: repair (and area repair)
e: reclaim
j: jump"

ok So these I use, but rest of them....

also regarding "q" you need to use shift+q in order for it to function

ROrankJoeDoe, its the most complex game I ever had in my life, at least I want to have more keys for my units...

You should! Build hotkeys and terraform combo are super magic in particular.

Some are admittedly near-useless or just bad UI (i,h)

No, you only need to hold Q. It works perfectly fine without any modifiers.
