[BUG] From when sumo became dgun proof and why?

The subject. DGUN deals like 15%-25% hp damage to the sumo...
I tried 3 times or so for the past week with the same result

I would suspect sumo model here... but it doesn't seem to be fair balance wise

Replay? Steps to reproduce?

For me dgun always deals 60-75% of Sumo's HP in damage, unless I miss (doh). Very likely not a bug. You probably just suck at aiming, were you drunk? No offense. Remember Spring is 3d, Sumo a big ball on legs and dgun deals damage multiple times.

I normally aim in the middle of a unit, but surprisingly silly dgun can't shot in 3d, for some reason it's a 2d weapon, Skasi

For the same exactly reason it can't fire at krow :| even if krow is in range

No it's not. Pff, I am sure you could somehow magically (maybe?) make a widget to be able to target 3d (maybe?), like dragging your mouse up and down while the LMB is pressed (maybe?). Maybe.

I remember a screenshot where a manually aimed Pene was clearly shooting into an Anni model, but Anni's collision volume was spherical so it took zero damage.

What? Which "description" are you referring to? If I manually aim LLT at the ground it wont kill Sumo either.

I don't remember exactly how long ago, but before sumo was perfectly targettable with dgun and died from 1 shot or almost died(90% hp or so)

No... I somehow supposed it to work without it(before it did work), I even remember games where we could dgun krows - now it simply refuses to shot

I kinda doubt that, but sure chances are something changed without me knowing. Perhaps you just haven't targetted a Sumo that was stepping aside before. Remember Sumo colvol and how dgun interacts with it.

if there was an easy way to aim dgun in 3d(without using fps) there would be no such a problem...

or I dunno, if I could arbitrary aim wherever I want it would be probably too hard to micro and account for unit movements

Well, one imperfect "solution" would be giving Sumo a pillar-like collision volume that touches the ground.

3D commands make for hard UI and allow hax (e.g. aim cannon at 45° upwards -> gain mega range).

Sumo used to have a larger sphere (which touched ground) but this was changed 70 -> 64 elmo on 4 Nov 2013

So... Is such dgun and sumo relation by design?
I agree with 3d aiming it would be incredibly hard to use it properly in the battle heat, but something needs to be done imo

Btw, related to jumps fac thing I saw incredible behavior with placeholder
Like scythe attacking com, placeholder shots at scythe, both levitates and com can't hit scythe with beam lazer at all...

This was supposedly fixed if you are talking about manualfire attack as opposed to ultimatum disintegrator gun. Try dgunning a krow with Dante against ground at 45 degree camera tilt to see if it's the old problem.

Aiming at the middle worked when I tested the fix and it worked when I tested just now.
