Funny bug: as soon as I type any letter in a room, ZK lobby crashes. It's happening since tonight. I tried rebooting, reinstalling ZK, to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea where it could come from?

Thank you very much for whoever did it! (Who was it actually?)

Must definitly be something with another program on my computer making ZKL crash.

Run steam along with ZKL please.

I run ZKL along steam and same bug occurs.

Here is the error log (I deleted identical entries under same time stamp).

Strange thing.

I didn't have much interesting to say in lobby but still ... ;)

May be fixed in this commit (merged into stable; i.e. latest ZKL update will have it).
Please test when you have the time!

EDIT: Probably not the right one.

Latest lobby update seems to have fixed it.

Unfortunately not for me..

The operative keyword here is seems. I was advised to restart lobby after a desynced game and oh dear, first character in chat -> crash. So it is back (or was an update rolled back that I am not aware of?)

This still a problem? (Try with the ZKL .NET 4.0 version if you haven't already)

If so, we're going to need an affected volunteer to do the following:
- Install Visual Studio
- Check out the infra's git .repo
- Run ZKL in debug mode

Burdensome if you don't already have those things, yeah. But until one of the devs can reproduce this at all this looks like pretty much the only option. Let us know if you want to give it a go.

I am willing to give it a go. I'll install visual studio.

OK visual studio community is on my PC. I checked out the infra's git .repo. HWhat should I know now and how can I run ZKL in debug mode?

Quick tutorial with images (you can skip Step 1 since you've already done it)

After that, ZKL will appear (check your system tray if it's not in the taskbar, though I'm sure you've seen this already). Start typing and see what errors VS coughs up.

Lol i thought that by "check out" you meant only looking at the page to see how it looks like. It's actually a technical term!

Ok I did everything as you directed me.

This is the error spawned when writing in chatbar:

System.AccessViolationException was unhandled
