Somethimes micro helps. But best tactics is use tactics and use air force tactical. Even if raven lost then its was worth to lost it in that attack.
You can also use hight alltitude and than raven will be intact. Of course you will miss targer in most cases. Because it is bomber who drops bomb. For guided missile attack we have licho.
Dont see too much problem with raven nerf. It makes air player think more how to use his units. And make difficult some cheese in game. Because going to fast com bomb cheese can be big mistake.

It is not easy to kill a human with a slingshot even if using heavy bronze or lead bullets (just saying) from reasonable skirmishing distance. However they can still be injured by them (which could potentially make them die from the wounds) and it can be lethal if you hit a right spot (a fontanel points or an eye).
