It is not because ZK does not support XP anymore. It is just that you are a chicken. Chicken are needed to be killed and eaten.
Apperently many people are allergic to chickens and my terrible sense of humour.

problem is, required version of .NET recently got upgraded beyond winXP supported .NET version. temporary, (i assume) it is possible to play with older zero-k lobby and winXP, but this time window will close when lobby protocol migration completes, which will be in close future.

if you dont want to upgrade your windows license, give linux a try (dual boot paired with winXP should work too)

personally i advise against XP due to security reasons, but that is just me not wanting to be part of a botnet.

Thanks a lot, i search for older version, for XP it's because i have a older PC and a dual-core with a older motherboard and i can't upgrade my license because the MB can support x64 :/

Get x86 Win7 or Linux?

Indeed, there are newer Windows versions (and other OS) that do not require x64-compatible hardware.

Sticking to XP is extremely discouraged. It is the equivalent of sleeping with an open door at night.

As far as I am aware it would be impossible to get an old version of ZKL without compiling an old revision of the source code. It may be possible to install and use the latest version of mono, which works with current ZKL builds.

For now, you can also just use weblobby.

Once protocol changes, that will probably fall off.

FRrankTearofwyvern, as I wrote the other day, you can use mono for windows. It kinda works, except browser integration.

Oh. That particular sentence didn't stick for me apparently. Looks like it didn't for other people either.

But yeah, in that context: LOL!

Mono works. It's not a first-class experience, but it's the same experience that linux users get, and it's sufficient.

Also consider moving over to something like Lubuntu. It will run noticably faster than XP while being significantly more secure.

+1 for mono or Lubuntu

FWIW, ZKL's browser integration works perfectly fine under mono on Linux.

You mean you get zkinfo within lobby and not opened externally in firefox or whatnot?

Hm, that reminds me of Awesomium. Has that been considered already? Since I doubt we'll be making > 100k revenue any time soon, it'll be completely free, and apparently .NET/WPF integration is easy.

No, I've never used it myself. It just slipped my mind.

EErankAdminAnarchid, right to the point.

Browser integration works fine under Linux just because browser is launched as an external instance. What I was refering to was that integrated IE browser integration doesn't work under Mono.

BTW, after the website design change I see pictures, inserted to the forum posts, as 1x1 pixel point (ZKL, integrated IE 9.0). Is there a way to fix this on the server side?
