[V]Rick:
"Trading is being abused even by devs atm:
7 hours ago Saktoth[0K] has purchased 119 influence from [DrK]xponen on Gritah for 1 each.

0k is losing and suddenly you do this?"

If you want to make stupid accusations you can keep them out of development discussion threads.

[DrK]xponen has purchased 109 influence from AUrankSaktoth[0K] on Sercaeryn for 11 each.
[DrK]xponen has purchased 72 influence from AUrankSaktoth[0K] on Sercaeryn for 11 each.

It was an IP swap, not a trade deal. The price was irrelevant (especially becaues he got way more IP and a more secure planet). We've been doing these kinds of IP swaps for a few days now. In fact, when [Pirate] was defending our planets from your invasions, they just gave the IP to us for free, to help us hold the world:
Saktoth[0K] has purchased 51 influence from [Pirate]Herbert on Revolution for 0 each.
Saktoth[0K] has purchased 51 influence from [Pirate]Shadowlight on Revolution for 0 each.
Saktoth[0K] has purchased 53 influence from [Pirate]MoMo on Revolution for 0 each.
Saktoth[0K] has purchased 53 influence from [Pirate]Magman on Revolution for 0 each.

We have made several trade deals with [NC] too:
[NC]Gretchen has purchased 98 influence from [LCC]KingRaptor[0K] on Arlin for 11 each.
[NC]Gretchen has purchased 141 influence from Saktoth[0K] on Arlin for 11 each.

Saktoth[0K] has purchased 210 influence from [NC]Gretchen on Arrakis for 11 each.
Saktoth[0K] has purchased 218 influence from [NC]Gretchen on Arrakis for 11 each.

[NC]Gretchen has purchased 83 influence from luckywaldo7[0K] on Arlin for 11 each.
[NC]Gretchen has purchased 103 influence from [LCC]KingRaptor[0K] on Arlin for 15 each.

Saktoth[0K] has purchased 32 influence from [NC]Gretchen on Rathasyas for 20 each.

etc etc etc

There is still a rule about restricting IP transaction outside the clan. This ban on transferring was imposed after the "First free planet stealing" bug abuse and some people were punished for transferring IP outside of hosting clans. You probably should still remember this case. It was said then, that NO IP SHOULD BE TRANSFERRED OUTSIDE THE CLAN. For that purpose the option of "PlanetWars gifts" has been restricted to clan members only - everyone outside was excluded, correct ?
Then your so called swap is breaching this rule twice actually, by buying / selling for symbolic price which equals to gift. Yes, selling for 0 or 1 credit is a gift whatever happens after that.
But don't get me wrong, I agree that transferring of IP or credits - even for symbolic price should be enabled again. Free first planet concept was already removed. Please enable PlanetWars gifts between all players without restrictions to prevent such "workarounds". Or - if you insist on forbidding the outer IP transfers - why isn't whole trading office disabled?

I'm pretty sure that rule no longer applies.

I thought it was removed after "first free planet" was fixed. The first planet is no longer free, instead players can move all their IP from everywhere in the galaxy to a single planet. So no free IP is created and everyone can make a homeworld.

I hope you can only make a homeworld when your clan owns no planets as it sounds a little abusable otherwise...

That was about people making fake smurf accounts and clans to get extra IP. It had nothing to do with IP transfer deals between legitimate players.

Of course people should make deals for IP. That is what the whole trade menu is for. You're right that the gift area should be re-opened.

Of course, I agree that there is nothing wrong with such swaps. But enable the gifting on homepages (aka "PlanetWars gifts", it is still disabled and implies that transferring is not possible.

/offtopic
Homeworld abuse is a another bug - we already conquered two homeworlds and still former owners can consolidate their IP there. See for example

This is probably deliberate, to allow clans to easily retake at least one world in a crowded universe, if they can get enough IP. It is a good system, IMO, as it doesnt completely shut clans out of the game. Where it is open to abuse is if you just get a profusion of clans so -every- world is a homeworld, allowing people to shift IP anywhere they please with total discretion (Since you can just gift that player IP on one world and he can consolidate it to another, indefinitely). Or, the constant creation (or shifting) of homeworlds on new conquests, or on border worlds, to be able to consolidate there. Another area of obvious abuse is homeworlds on artifact planets, to make them nigh-impossible to take.

It is open to heavy exploitation and needs revising, i agree. I think [I] trying to claw back a single planet (they still have to earn the IP) when they've been wiped off the map is working as intended, though.

Ye homeworlds pretty much made tech victory impossible.

Trading IP for 0 credits is giving someone free IP which is against the rules if its outside the clan which is the case here. If it wasnt against the rules you would be able to gift IP and credits to anyone but that isnt possible.

Silicon heaven ([0K]) [LCC]KingRaptor[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Silicon heaven ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 956 956 $0
Nicyonte ([V]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Great desert ([V]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Rulkas ([DrK]) jseah 100 100 $0
Naryisgen ([V]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0 206 for $0
Styx ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Duritin ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Rathasyas ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Sareb ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 1000 1000 $0
Gritah ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 10000 10000 $0 40 for $0
Alat ([V]) Saktoth[0K] 500 500 $0
Revolution ([0K]) Saktoth[0K] 1792 1792 $0

Just copying saktoths trade offers. Is this really the purpose of the trading office? I mean 90% of the trade offers are these kind of offers atm (ye i got them too now). When everyone finds out they all spam such offers hoping to get free IP.

There should be a minimum price to sell IP (like 20?).

There is still a way to abuse transfer - using "homeworld" feature - make fake clan, form homweorld, transfger to your clan.

We have to figure how to avoid this :(

Otherwise i would like proper interface for trade/swaps.

Rick has got the point that the trading office probably shouldnt be filled with 0$ buy offers. Since that IP transferring exploit has been fixed, i'd suggest reenabling gifting IP to any player, not just inside the clan/faction.

I think there should be some restrictions on homeworld. For example only consolidate if you own no planets and only to an empty, non-artefact planet.

There could be a better interface for swaps that removes Credits. Maybe players could set a list of planets they want IP on and planets they do not want IP on. If 2 players have intersecting and opposite wants and unwants and they both have IP on the planet they don't want then they could automatically transfer IP to each other.

Idk how well that would work though, often people may just gift it anyway. Probably too complex in usage and implementation to be worthwhile.

We already have an inbuilt gifting system through alliances. In the last round clans that were allied would give IP to their allies when they won a battle on an allied planet, what happened to that?

If we can gift our IP to [NC] to hold a world against [V], we will do it. They will do the same. This is a strategic decision, not abuse. Not against any rules. Smurfing is the problem.

We actually have trade deals with clans like NC, in a first-past-the-post system. On worlds where they have most IP and they could take/hold the planet with our IP, we give it to them. In worlds where we have most IP and could take/hold with their IP, they give it to us. Exception is any world linked to an allied planet, which goes to whoever owns the planet.

This is just how you play FFA. As long as there is no smurfing, and everyone is playing to win, its fine.
